Coyote alert!!

Unusual request to go out at 3:45 but who am I to argue if one needs to go. However she did not but rather checked on J and Luna who were napping at the door. Off tot he garage and me back to bed only lasted a brief few minutes when she started barking. She doesnt bark so off I went to let her out then back in and to bed. This repeated but this time I listened at the open garage window; a very loud owl was hooting and there was a cougar like sound. I went outside to listen and you could hear this and other nocturnal sounds. The cougar sound may be a coyote with their crazy pain call to lure in victims. Back inside I decided to scrub a paint brush while she finished her guard dog barking.

Then in and back to bed but as the dawn started to roll in she barked again. Back I went to the garage to let her out only to notice a black horse laid out by the shelter. I hustled across the closest paddock with my brave guard dog staying on the deck. I walked across closest paddock then began to hustle when Roo finally lifted her head to look at me; WTH girl? Did you not hear all this evening cacophony? I checked and Luna and J were still at the front door and hoped Stella was in the garage so finally went to bed coming on 5 am.

I awoke at 8:45 to a bright sunny day. Time to feed H and as I let her out I noticed Mr J rolling in the closest paddock near the horse shelter. What was he doing? As I watched from the deck I saw a brazen coyote about 20 feet from him coming towards the shelter. It moved around the back and as I called J and stepped over to take a better photo it stopped to look at me. I called Harley who was around on the front deck by now and no scent of it whatever. Obviously neither did J but he did come right away hoping he was be invited into his favorite garage. The coyote then took off and I beetled around front to see if kittens there then to the barn where they greeted me happily, WHEW!! I gave them food and headed in for a cappuccino. Not sure why I went with decaf as it has been quite the day so far.

I did start the front flower bed drip line and forest water seeing the wind was just a breeze then got busy working on a tutorial for the fold down table. Shaina was up after 10 both of us with headaches. She made us toast while I poured orange kombucha; yum! She also helped me lift our heavy coffee table out of the way and the black one in place. I cleaned the glass and brought in, I have been worried the smoked glass may look odd with the black but S likes it so will sell as is unless it doesnt sell then look at the other ideas I had such as painting it too. Then I finished the tutorial and S back to her office.

Lunch was late after I went and set up water on the peonies. Time to paint those edges quick and get the glass in. It looks ok with the black so will list as it. Photos were taken and a sale ad written up.

The water was moved to willow. After my run of bad luck I was feeling like i may just get rid of my stock and quit but once i got stuff organized, cancelled the huge custom table and got working on the coffee table the feeling lifted. A friend tagged me on a free coffee/end table. I bit and asked the guy if wood and sure enough but had to be after 7:30. I said thanks if I come to town some day after that I would check but feel free to let next in line have it. Then my FB feed showed me he had a dining set with 4 press back chairs. I have been kicking myself for selling all mine and wanted some. So I messaged him back. He also has a hutch which is in two pieces.. always popular for a sideboard now the kicker is he had posted his address and said FCFS (first come first served). I mentioned I have to come in with a horse trailer so didn't want to be late to the party. He has offered to text when on his way home from work to give me a head start LOL.

Out to hook up the horse trailer and clean it out with my helper Harley. Shaina loaded up and was headed off to the city and Banff at 3:30. I bottled up the lemonade and ginger bug soda to second ferment. More work on the coffee table posts listing on sale sites. A had a FB friend suggestion that I messaged; a gal who I did the Miss Medicine Hat pageant with. We chatted for an hour and crazy that seeing she is still in the Hat knows Candace, Dwayne, Annette, Tami and Mickey and a whole passel more. The world is such a small place really.

The fellow messaged he was home early at 6 so I jumped in the truck and was off. Luckily for my lack of storage space many of the pieces I thought I wanted were not wood he thinks they are. So many people think wood means heavy.. that means particle board people. I did take the antique dining table and 6 chairs (1 has a broken leg), and a wood French provincial coffee table and a wood shelf as well as a big score for Britt a new portable air conditioner. It is missing its remote and hose but that should be easy to source.

Once all loaded I headed for the ranch with a detour to Edo to grab a noodle bowl for supper. At the gate I met a couple chatting with B about our gate. They had stopped when we were building to get our stucco guys name. Recently they were broke into so building a gate for future deterrence. I gave B her new a/c and headed to the house. Time to chow down thankful for house A/C. It only hit 24 today but the house seems stuffy.

At 9 H and I went out and put the kitties in for the night with bonus soft food to avoid the coyote if he comes back and the owl. We also watered the garden and elder and put the sprinkler on another section of the forest. It is really nice out tonight with just a bit of wind and 20 still. Time to crawl into bed after tucking H in the garage for the night and watch some Manifest episodes.
