A couple weeks in review

It has been a few weeks since the last post. Since then there has been a few birthdays celebrated and the weather is changing to spring. Shaina took a Mexican vacation to Cancun for 6 days.

Sharon and I took in a horse clinic at a nearby stable on April 15.

Sheldon has been busy with rodeo work bees and meetings which also includes lunches out :) We did get a patio set but he built only 2 of the chairs to see if we like them and if they are wind worthy on our deck. So far so good.

Britt took Roo and Beibs to her place. I had a couple lunch dates with Dad and Mom stayed for a few days too.

Lori B came for a visit. It has been years since we visited in person. S spent the day in town running errands and chatting with Craig. Aislyn spent the afternoon with us too.

Aislyn took this one of us :)

I completed our old coffee table set finally.

and this cute MCM dresser.

I had my annual hair highlighting appointment and birthday lunch with Sharon and Coreena. I grabbed my free Starbucks beverage for the ride home after.

Thank you for the lovely gifts <3

Kaylin, Shaina and the pups (Nathan was tied up with work and unable to come along ;( ) came out after their vet visit and we all went for my FREE birthday supper at the Station. What a great deal it is.  Britt joined us too for supper.

Darren and Sharon popped out to park their horse trailer, visit on the deck and enjoy some of her tasty birthday cake she had made.

I scored these cute baby items for FREE , S grabbed them after church and I got them all scrubbed up.

so cute right!

I had a custom table top dropped off to refinish. I also planted peas and sweet peas on this Sunday as well.

We met Britt and Cooper in the city for both dogs to get their chiro appointments. Coop appreciated his big buddy along for comfort.

Can you believe how tall my fiddle leaf is? And I have cut if down too.

I repotted my canna pots and moved outside. The ones I started inside remain inside. The lobelia was picked up at Costco to add to pots soon.

We were invited to join the Paetz family for Aislyns birthday. We facetimed Britt who was enjoying her birthday with the horses then off to the Calgary Tower for supper with Dave later.

A wee bit of sunburn after ridding an open cab tractor brush cutting the paddocks.

Getting a photo of these 4 is a challenge, this was the best.

Happy cake day B!!

The pet wrangler/trainer is back for an afternoon visit.

Sheldon and I finished up our massage benefits this month with S having 2. Going forward they will be a "treat" vs benefit. Luckily I have us a couples massage booked at the spa in May. So that is the last 2 weeks in review. Hope you enjoyed the catch up.

Are the tables done?

I got busy dark waxing and dirtying up the table bases. I also continued my paint product purge. It seems I have so much stuff. H food was delivered which made her happy.

Lunch was the last of the mushroom soup. S hit couch for a nap after he ate. Back to my purging and sorting and cleaning in the garage. H had her bedding washed and cushion aired outside.

Sharon popped out to get Zelos at 2 as I was out checking the trees with buried bending branches. She had trouble getting him to her trailer so H and I helped but walking along with the herd following then loading him at winter gate.

Back to the tree. S was up and had pressure washer out to wash things. He held branches while I taped. 1 big branch had to be cut ;( I was back making H bed and sorting more purging. I have a gal interested in all and coming from Calgary. She arrived after 4 and bought most of it. I continued to sort and post more.

We were having a beer and guacamole when Sharon arrived back after 5 with her horse. We chatted in the lovely sunshine after she brushed and fed Timba. She was off for home at 6. I returned inside to get supper going.

I am going to take a hiatus from the blog. It is very time consuming to take, edit and resize photos and keep up with the events of each day. And it really is only watched by a couple people so will try and keep them more up to date via texts. The weather is improving to get outside and the house is suffering to keep clean with 3 of us here 24/7. I need to get more projects done, tutorials written and pieces sold. I may or may not be back full time but will do special day blogs for sure. :) Thanks to those who have read this far.

Table tops back to brown

The morning was spent blending colors which ended up looking lovely BUT still did not look good with the base. On the base I changed to brown "dirt" and added dark wax which helped a bit. S graded the yard again as it continues to dry.

my blending video

S headed to town at 2 with the recyclables. He took my DNA sample to mail as well. I worked on more tree stuff and activated my ancestry DNA kit. Then it was back out to the tables. Not loving them I decided to go dark on the top again with walnut stain. The wind and clouds forecast on noon news arrived around 3, boo!

our lakefront property dwindles

tooo boring

so dark it went again

S was back before 3:30 bringing an iced cap. Nice refreshment as I was just staining the coffee table top. He also picked up a crib I had scored for free.  Rain started at 4 as it became dark and ugly. A line locator fellow came in at the same time to mark for the soil sampler guy coming soon. Up next was organizing my paint products. I have allot so going to purge some more and make room.

For supper I made us a delicious salad. S chopped mushrooms to help me make my favorite instant pot mushroom soup. After supper we went for a soak in the hot tub. This is the snow we have after 3 days from the snow covered look. I rounded off my night watching more Glow Up episodes and S sports.

Lakefront

I was up and made coffee at 8 and worked on ancestry after feeding H. Papa was up next for a cup of java. Sheldon and Ma K joined as well. They visited while I continued adding to the Ball side into the 1700's. Ma and Pa headed for home at 11. I got back to my family tree while S ran the vacuum around.

lakefront property for a couple days

We had leftover lunch then I carried on reaching the 1400's!! He is my 18th grandfather. That is crazy. Around 2:30 S went out to push old hay in the winter pasture with the skid steer then grade the road. I went to the garage to work on the tables. The tops are now too white so I did a color wash with the buttercream. Of course one top I touched up and it shows so it had to be redone with stain first. I white waxed the bases to try and lighten but not sure it is what I like either. I also added grey dust to the edges.

H and I met S coming in from his grading. We took her for a walk in the now almost barren fields. It was sunny 13 but very blustery.

Supper was a delicious steak supper. We finished just as the fellow arrived at 6:30 to pick up the dining table. I helped him load up and he was off after strapping down. It has been a few days so time for a hot tub. S was off to TV room after rinse and I back to ancestry work. Much to S disappointment the Flames lost in a shoot out which also took them out of playoff contention. I moved to bed to start season 3 of Glow Up.
