barn floor goes in

Wednesday was  super busy day and super hot again, the barn floor was poured, I mowed the entire grass area while Sheldon ran to town for doctor and dentist. Caylen W dropped off a bouncy horse for me from Coreena and was so sweet bringing me a Tim Chai, THANKS Caylen!! Britt missed a massage so was flogged to pick poop. Shaina joined in for a bit getting her tan on too. I hooked up the dump trailer and was pick up and dump lady. The heat wave has inspired more blinds so the Budget Blind lady came to measure after lunch. Mom you will miss the early summer sunrises now!

 last nights job

Shaina had acupuncture but once back home loaded up floaties, the dogs and Britt & Sheldon and back to town. the dogs and girls floated the canal while Sheldon ran a few errands. I cooked up a supper (in the heat) and we all enjoyed a family meal once everyone was back before we watched more SOA.

Thursday was overcast but a hot 29. Sheldon replaced the broken center post in one of the horse sheds before he was off to town to get some pricey Ford mud flaps installed. Shaina was off for a full day of work starting at 11 and not getting home until just before 1 am. Britt hid in the basement for most of the day where it was cool pretending to clean her room!

Later gravel was pushed around the new cement apron and the truck moved back inside

Wreck It Ralph gets a shave

Sunday with no girls home I slept till 10:30, think it has been years since that happened. And a gorgeous day it was. I worked weeding and watering the garden. Britt was back home around 12:30 as I started watering the grass finally shutting it off at 8 pm. She also helped me catch a few horses and soak Hawk's feet while I trimmed Pepper's, then Hawks then applied the scratches ointment and trimmed Bird too.

old trusty Pepper, catch him vault on, catch another and return with both while opening gates
then mess around on him cause he is the trustiest horse ever!

Shaina was home just before 5. She kindly made grilled cheese for all then she and I took the dogs for a walk. Once back at the house Britt helped us shave Wreck It Ralph. Time for a shower for me! Rylan came out to visit Shaina on the sunny deck while both Britt and I watched our shows.

who knew he was a pinto! below the wrestlers
Monday, another sunny hot day started with more watering this time on the north side. If only I was trying to grow wild oats would I be a huge success! Shaina worked her day shift and not evening so returned home with Jenna. They enjoyed some sun on the deck, chicken supper I made then we went for a walk with dogs. They headed back to town for a sleepover at Jenna's house after an ice cream run. Britt worked 3-8 getting a few $$ in her bank.

Tuesday Britt and I were off by 11 in the new wheels to the airport. Sheldon finally got to see his new truck and enjoyed driving it the rest of the day even parking in the ever busy Chinook Mall parking lot. We ran errands, had lunch, I got a chelation shot and stocked up at Costco before heading home. It was a smoking 32 degree day. Britt helped Sheldon frame the big shop door apron after supper, luckily in the shade. Shaina hit the city today as well and once back later in the evening she, Sheldon and I started SOA season 3 before retiring after a long day.

new truck comes home

Thursday was a WINDY day, of course any moisture is long gone but I guess so are all bugs. I started the day with coffee and posting the blog then got busy in the shop. Shaina was off to work for 11. I waxed the old wash stand and glazed a small ornate frame. Britt helped me move stuff around in the shop and she and I were off to town at 2:30. Time for her to go to work at 3 and me to pick up the new truck!

After the long drawn out walk thru of the truck I ran a few errands (including a sim card to convert to the iPhone world via Britt's old one). I tried to get groceries but after getting all chosen and up to the till they told me only cash! $5.60 will not cover so they were left and I was off for home.

Shaina was home after work and sadly with no groceries we had scrambled eggs and beans for supper. I dark waxed the stand and put another coat of top coat on Kaylin's table. Once home from work, Britt caught Hawk and I treated his and Julio's feet. We also parked the new truck safely in the shop! Shaina and I took the dogs for a nice walk as the wind finally let up by now. Kaylin stopped for a visit and to pick up her coffee table after work.

Friday was an overcast occasional sprinkles throughout the day. I added more wax to the wash stand, put on hardware and staged for photos. It was a great day to do bills and clean house. Shaina headed to work at 3 and Britt too went to town on errands and to grab groceries. Later in the afternoon I took out mineral in a new tub and screwed into the far horse shed, fed Scooter some food with ACV and hay to help her tummy and let the other 2 out with the rest. Diego got his monthly shot too. I brought the wash stand in staged and posted for auction.

I also worked on a vintage window. It had one pane out but I managed to get it right up to the cleaned and installing new glazier points when the last one I heard crack! DAM IT, it broke straight across but being the original thick glass it left a sharp edge so had to go. I had a perfect piece of heavy wire but found it 1/4" to narrow, again DAM IT!! I had to cut a whole new piece then glue an edge piece but it will be nice when done. Back home Britt retreated to TV room to continue her new series Walking Dead before heading to Rockyford Rodeo around 8. (bad idea when driving home alone in the dark heh Britt! ;-) When Shaina got home from working out after work, we both showered and crawled in my bed to watch OITNB for a bit.

Saturday started a we bit cloudy but by the time I finally routed both girls at 11 and loaded horses it started to burn off. Once in the city and on the field it was glorious! Not many turned out but it was a fun day of play and sun. We stopped to get Subway on the way home saving me cooking :-) The girls showered up and by 8:30 Britt headed east to Rockyford again for a sleepover this time (It is their big rodeo w/e) Just after 9 Shaina headed west to the city to spend the night on the town and sleeping over at Kaylin's. Sheldon had text he was stuffed after his usual Saturday night steak and lobster feed and was now watching football! What was a lonely girl to do?  Pull out chips and dip and wash it down with a cold beer and clam while updating the blog and playing Cookie Jam (my new candy crush!) then finished season 2 of OITNB. I also staged a few pictures of the window frame.

truck search success

Monday morning was drizzly bringing a bit of rain but cleared up by noon. I went out and tried neighbor Matt's new fertilizer on the garden then soaked, cleaned and treated Hawks feet (thanks to Britt for catching him after finally getting up :-). I walked out and applied the cream to Julio as well. I organized truck arrival time and insurance all for this Friday.
right still looks bad but getting better
Shaina was off in the morning to job one but stopped home for a few things before heading to job two. Britt soon followed her to town to work from 3-8. I tidied the garage for a bit hoping to make room for Sheldon's new truck. Watching the news at noon I saw storms going south but was only worried about here so did not think much until the call came that our new truck was hailed out on the lot in High River or Claresholm!! WTH is our bad luck with hail!  but on the other hand it may be our new good luck with hail as it was not here, nor did we pay in full so don't have to claim it :-)

I took the dogs on the usual walk one a gorgeous sunny night and see the chokecherry trees are even more infested with the tent worms ;-( then refilled mineral tub in mid pen. Once Britt got home from work she caught Scooter and assisted as I washed her butt. Her backside was caked with dry diarrhea so wanted to clean her up, poor old girl. Once home from work just before 11, Shaina made grilled cheese and gave me her BEST one ever, it was golden brown and melted to perfection, (then she burnt hers) THANKS Dudie!! XOXOXO
Tuesday was a windy overcast day. I started my day organizing the garage and watching OITNB. Kaylin arrived late morning for a visit - and to drop off a coffee table she just picked up. She also bought tons of swap and us 3 girls had fund taking turns choosing treasures, THANKS Kazie! below is just my scores!
I worked on scrubbing up an old piece after Kaylin washed up the coffee table and headed home. While it dried Britt and I ran to town to test drive the Ford 350 and ended up buying one. They managed to find two silver ones similar to the 150 with one closest in Calgary. Looks like a road trip tomorrow to pick it up!!

We then ran to tims for a celebration treat and to Walmart for groceries and Britt ordered pictures for her collage wall. Back home she filled her frames while I painted the coffee table cream color and after supper it was our project to hang all Britt's frames. Of course like any of my huge wall collages, there was a couple extra holes put in for good luck :-)
before and after

Wednesday was overcast but no wind, yeah! Poor Shaina crawled in with me at 5:45 sick with a migraine. Poor kid, I pepper minted her up and pinched her hand and eventually she went to sleep but it continued thru the day ;-( A few sprinkles of rain started the day but that was it. I sanded the old piece top before showering to make the truck run. I also painted a 2nd coat of limoge on Kaylin's coffee table.
trying out the new bright Dior lip gloss from Kaylin

Britt and I ran to town before one where we jumped in with the dealer fellow who took us to our new truck. Once on the road home we stopped to pickup first load which was minerals for the ponies. We stopped to drop at the house as we passed and Shaina and Coco jumped in with us. Back at the dealer I finished up paperwork while the girls ran to Tims then we got gas and beer before heading back home for Shaina to get ready for work at 6.
Britt checking out the touch pad

I painted a wash of yellow on the old stand then distressed it to. A quick supper was followed by a dog walk but as I started out I noticed the wild oats really liked the inch of water and were over a foot high. Britt was recruited to walk the dogs while I mowed them down.

 of course always repairs too
Britt hauled in a big chair and added to her room, great for reading or snap chatting :-) I put a coat of top coat on Kaylin's piece before finishing the blog.
As I was finishing up the blog a severe thunderstorm with HAIL (which never fell thank goodness) blew thru for a couple hours taking out the power and delaying posting, but here it is now!
