Happy Easter

Happy Easter all. I was awake before 8 as usual to a bright sunny Sunday. The usual coffee brain games and holiday wishes sent to start. We hit the hot tub for a sunny soak. After a shower S was off to garage to build last 2 boxes. I did yesterday's blog before hauling items up to go.

Our folding chairs and a stacking stool along with the OG high chair were brought up. The 18 qt roaster oven (saving grace item when the hostess’s oven is full of turkey) was brought up and filled with tasty cabbage rolls thanks to Ma K xoxo. I got them warming. Renn’s first Easter gift and snacks were packed up as well as items for Mom. When S was done his nesting boxes, he loaded them in the truck. Candace FaceTimed us for an Easter visit as I flat ironed my locks and did last minute prep. Britt was out to feed as we were packing up then set off to change her clothes as we headed out before1.

Kaylin, Nathan and Renn had already arrived at Paetz’s and testing out the Walker, bouncy seat and toys. Shaina and Britt joined us as did Mom and Travis with Dave arriving after his day training around 2:30. It was a lovely visit.

The turkey meal was fantastic, big thanks to all who contributed and to AJ and Craig for hosting.

There were also a few rounds of a jelly bean game with good/bad flavors. Dave was not a fan of old bandage nor I of vomit!!

Renn napped during supper but got her plate once wake

Renn did not yet figure out the walker other then a few backwards pushes but enjoyed chauffeur service, thanks Shaina

4 generation photos were next. THANKS to Shaina for taking them.

Next time no fan to distract and perhaps an outdoor setting

Renn has always loved my cross necklace

Aislyn wanted Renn to play with her downstairs and showed her how to write on carpet :)

The Boysis family left around 5:30 to get little miss home in time for her bedtime routine. We totally forgot the cabbage rolls for the dinner portion but they worked great for supper.

We played Russian rummy. Shaina headed back to the city around 8 with mom taking her spot. It ended when B & D headed home. The rest of us played Uno 99 cards including the kids till late. After cleaning and loading up our goodies we headed home after 11 with Mom and Travis headed to Oyen just after us. THANKS ALL XOXO Happy Easter.

Easter vigil

After a sleep in till 9:30 the day was underway. It was a beauty day!! Sunny and -8 with the temperature rising. I stripped the sheets and threw in laundry. I tried out some of the stain removers I bought from Amanda after marking each of them for what is best. I also mixed up a new dawn/vinegar bottle too.

super glass clothes cleaner

Brittany donated a big bag of Cooper's toys to Harley. She is very excited to get one out of the bag. Thanks B and C!

S's bruised shoulder from hockey crash is fading but still green.

At noon S started his chicken nesting box assembly. I helped him with chicken boxes helping to lift the big pieces with his shoulder issues and sorting the hardware into piles. In between these parts I fed granola to horses/dogs along with apples still in abundance thanks to Shaina's donation. I took photos of staging items for sale

B out to feed she took Coco's harness back to town to fit up Gulliver to take outside on a leash. Sure hope there is video of this adventure.

Meanwhile in the city the Boysis bakeshop was underway!

Then Shaina took Renn out for a spring stroll :)

The 2 mandevilla plants in the garage were soaked. Both are starting to come back ready for spring. All my orchids were soaked as well.  S finished up 3 of the boxes at 3.

S loaded the 5 huge boxes of cardboard into the truck and covered with a net. We headed to town around 3:30 dropping the cardboard at recycling. A change table/dresser was picked up next. I am planning to redo this in bold floral but will see once I get it started. It seems the confession time S thought was scheduled was incorrect after trying all the school doors. We grabbed an iced coffee, dropped the thrift store items off and headed home.

The dresser unloaded into the garage. I ran the vacuum and mop around while S and H went out for some peanuts on the deck. He then grabbed the gun and headed out as there have been gophers spotted for last few days every time we drive in and out. I did yesterday's blog and worked on today's.

After his hour hunt and sniping 20 gophers, I saw he was heading home. Time to get the last Goodfood meal prepped. It is pork stir fry with cauliflower rice which we quite enjoyed. The portions are less then I usually make so topped it off with a frozen fruit yogurt bowl. However this part of the meal was pushing time to get to church so I took mine along and finished on the drive in.

Sheldon was confident that church would be shorter than yesterdays hour and a half however when I mentioned this to Amanda she says I think he might be fibbing. Sure enough the Easter vigil started at 8 and we were home by 11 pm!! Definitely longer than yesterday LOL. I don't think I knew church could go for almost 3 hours :) S caught up on the sports highlights of all the games he missed while I perused more Youtube videos. After he was asleep, I listened to podcasts till drifting off to sleep after 1.

Happy Good Friday

Happy Good Friday all. It was another dreary day. I actually had 2 coffees this am after feeding dog and cats. S had a sleep in day. I had a shower then did my Friday plant care and watering with banana peel water.

my Easter cactuses are blooming!

Lunch was a huge salad for S with salmon. I had mine on crackers as trying to follow Good Friday meal recommendations as per S request.

Renn is really expanding her food testing, check it out

this play pen series is pretty cute too

We headed to town around 2:30 grabbing the mai on the way. Good Friday service was at 3. We sat with Amanda and the 3 littles. It was an extended service going 1 1/2 hours. After church we dropped off a library book and picked up groceries with a tea from Tim’s. Britt had fed horses including a bale while we were gone.

Gas prices are $154.9 and going up Monday!! WTH! Back at the ranch we unloaded items and caught the news .The snow started lightly as we came out of church but now started to really pick up. I packaged up more seeds and a couple SASE I received.  Shaina FaceTimed us again to talk condo purchasing. This girl has done her research.

Happy Easter all!

For a late supper, I cooked up another Goodfood meal - saucy shrimp. It was tasty and worked good for meatless Friday. Sheldon ran over to pick up the rest of the chicken coop nesting boxes from Matt's. He is going to build them here over the next few days. He was back around 9, I helped him unload into garage and got cats in for the night.

We finished Lessons in Chemistry and started a new one called Palm Royale with chips and dip. At 11:30 Britt was worried the horse were going to starve. It seems she only put out 1 bale at 4 pm for 5 horses. Of course it was gone now. S dressed and went and tossed 2 more bales. THANK YOU!! The best farm hand us horse girls could ask for :)
