Meet the Andersons

It is always hard to get a good sleep in a new place. The night before laundry noise from next door was replaced with a sewer smell. Eventually I got up and plugged the sink and sealed with water which helped. We chose to not use the A/C again and went with the screen open and ceiling fan overnight. This presented new challenges mostly local noise including traffic. As well as a few annoying birds and dogs early in the morning and a neighbor on the deck with a wake up alarm at 6:30. We are way up on a hill overlooking the ocean so vehicles make noise climbing up. The sun however was lovely when the curtains were opened before 8. I sat in bed typing just like I was in a deck lounger. It is 19 with a high of 27 called for later. We went down for breakfast like yesterday Chatting with another couple who are going to stay in Cabo Pulmo suggested a hike and oasis water fall at Santiago. We also learned the guy at breakfast will cook meals for you too. If only that was mentioned on the card or at check in.

that is our hotel top left on right side of hill

coming in to Cabo, arches to the left but hard to see in this pic

We packed up and hauled everything down to the car. S cleaned the tires to erase all off roading evidence. We stopped at the beach below us - playa pamilla / costa azul and did our first beach walk. Then we set off west to Cabo. Passing the turn to Costco had a very zig zag rerouting but eventually we made it. The car was filled with $518 pesos of fuel. Then we looped thru the store and got some groceries. Things are NOT cheap in Mexico anymore. We grabbed lunch there after shopping. S chose the foot long hot dog and ice tea and I choose a strawberry sundae.

gas = $42.61 and vodka = $14.67 for the jumbo. best deal in Mexico!

9 months and cute as a button

The condo was not far away at all. We are room 406. We unpacked the food and our bags. Time to return the car. We put on just under 300 kms. We did attempt to get more groceries but S got flustered in the paid parcade so we again took a round about tour to get to the car rental. Including going down a 1 way with the police coming towards us! And of course we got charged $20 USD to return it apparently written in the contract but pretty sure it went into his pocket. Now we were off walking back to the condo. We stopped for a couple cold margaritas and guacamole at Mariscos Cabo Seafood Medano.

check out a video of our swanky digs

Back at the condo we had a cold beer waiting for Doug and Toby. When they arrived we had a couple cold beers. The guys went for a swim then we changed and ventured off to find supper.

Again we walked around in a big circle back to the original Texican we stopped at first. There we had pricey drinks and food; - me tortilla soup and S chicken fajitas. They did have a live band and the place was packed. Back at the condo the ladies headed off to their rooms while the fellows chatted. I read till S came in and we watched some Car Masters.
