Rainy day date night

The rain was coming down pretty good around 4:30. Lexi headed downstairs around 7 when I got up for a bathroom break and closed the window. The rain had let up and was not back when the coffee pot went off at 8:30. It did however drizzle off and on all day. S walked Lola after I medicated her. The cats have a 11 am vet appointment and require a kennel so I had to unearth the dog kennel deep under the stairs behind loads of boxes. I got one out which will be just fine seeing they are siblings and small. Shaina was up for toast before 10. S caught the cats and they set off for town after 10 stopping at a clients before the vet appointment.

an anniversary gift from the Paetz's, they know us well XOXO THANK YOU

While they were picking up Shaina's stuff and taking cats to the vet I wrote up a Hometalk post for the yellow jewelry chest. Kaylin got up, had some toast and prepped for her work day ahead then caught up on life snuggled in big brown with Lexi waiting for Shaina's return. Eventually before noon K headed out picking Shaina up on the way to the city.

S was back before 1 with a chai tea and Opa for lunch. The cats were off to the shop after their town trip. Scott popped out at 1 to learn about the solar system at 1 bringing us a caramel macchiato Starbucks. THANKS. I enjoyed it while having an online meeting with the paint company I started affiliating with. They did their tour then inside for an hour work conflab while I wrote the desk tutorial. Scott headed off before 3 with the Fedex guy dropping off our meal box soon after.

The drizzly day was a good time to try on my wedding dress for S and have him snap a few photos.

I then continued computer work while S napped in big brown. We have a dinner reservation in the city at Bow Valley Ranche Restaurant. We headed off around 4:30 thru bouts of rain with it drizzling the entire time in the city. Dinner was absolutely delicious. We enjoyed a starter of beet salad (me) and seafood bisque (S) with appetizer of fresh PEI oysters. The chef sent out a hummus and cucumber mix with a rice cracker too. The main was surf and turf featuring bison. And to drink I had a PAC mule and S a Gin drink. This place is very grand heritage site and highly recommended.

We drove the nature reserve area before heading back to the ranch. We pulled in about 7:45 just missing Britt by 5 minutes it seems. She was out feeding and putting a rain sheet on Bird. The evening was very relaxed including Lola who was chill inside and in the garage once put in for the night and medicated. The rain gauge was checked when she was walked getting 3 1/2/10ths today. We made our own fancy coffees and played crib to round out our date night.
