tree watering tuesday and sanding@!

What a gorgeous day! I made a pot of coffee and did my usual morning check for any sales requests, darn none yet. So I posted the coffee table and finished up the blog post for it.

The girls came up after 10 for a coffee and banana bread and we went out to ride. It was 21 already and a warm ride for sure. Back from the ride Shaina untacked and headed to shower as she has a noon shift. Britt kindly hosed KD for her and I rubbed some liniment on her back legs which were a bit sore.

Noon.. time to start the watering brigade. I had 4 water sources going with moved every 30 minutes. I also started the dining table project stripping & sanding. This is the longest table I have ever seen, it is 8 1/2feet long when all leaves in!! This kept me hopping doing both but the breaks from the sander were good for my tingling hands ;).

I will try one chair as a trial but this manufactured finish is a bugger

hand painted corners sanded to a ghost haze

check out how long it is and the wood variation

It was such a beautiful no wind 26 day. Vegas hit 47!! and Phoenix had flights cancelled it was 49, yikes! Britt laid in the sun all afternoon claiming to be studying for a test next month, hmmmm. She did make a ceasar salad for supper AKA rinse and tear lettuce add dressing ;)

She was off to town after supper while I headed out to keep on sanding. At 8 the wind picked up and it was not long until it was a full fledged dust storm. Hurriedly I shut windows moved the car back in etc but man was it stuffy as I was now scrubbing the table.

It eased up a bit as Britt was coming back around 9. I finished up scrubbing the table, all 5 leaves, center leg and the leaf box top and bottoms and called it a day. I had emptied the one rain barrel under the deck this afternoon and before the wind picked up finished the last timer waters but the rain barrel at the shop was still not empty by 10:30 when I shut the work shop down.
