Once motivated with coffee, Sheldon started weed eating and spraying the yard and driveway while I was busy in the work shop. I put a coat of stain on coffee table and started painting the base a warm white then moved on to the dresser.
Once all the paint cans and clamps were off it needed a bit more wood filler and as much as I tried to sand the top smooth no luck. i even hauled it outside and tried a new sanding pad but this factory shellac was not budging fast so out came the stripper finally. I should have just started with it and saved hours of sanding.
look at it bubble up and the crap I scraped off even after sanding so many times already
Now more sanding once it was all scrapped off . I started to paint the base and changed from the bright azure blue to the soft baby color I did this dresser but it was too pale so went with my first choice. Now for the sanded down top.. I put a coat of natural stain and oil on to see and when Sheldon popped in with a Tims chai after a run to town for gas, I had him hold up the mirror. I think it would be cute painted the bright blue but will leave it as optional to the buyer. I put another coat on the coffee table and 7 hours had now passed.
Road graded and edged while I caught hawk and Bird and trimmed them both. It was a warm one even with the doors open. Sheldon was off to shower and head to town for a rodeo meeting around 5 leaving me to finish up and sweep the barn tidy. That was a mistake as after a break to re-hydrate I was back out and caught Switch. I trimmed her fronts requiring more sweeping ;) She and I were practicing outside as Britt arrived home later after working a bit overtime. She caught Bird and KD and we headed out to condition along the lane way to avoid the bugs. And once we untacked and fed meds/supplements I trimmed KD's fronts. Yep more sweeping ;)
Oh man I needed a shower for sure. I took out burgers and Britt lit the barbecue and when Sheldon arrived home from his meeting we finally ate around 9:30, whew
