slow Sunday

Sunday was as forecasted, overcast and dreary with sprinkles of rain. I was up early, probably since to bed so early. I got busy checking the 325 photos I took in the last few days. As I thought, the family photos had some pretty funny results. I loaded them up on dropbox to share with family. Sheldon was up late am and threw on some coffee and hit the tablet time. Once Britt got up around 11, she and I went out to nurse patient Bird. I had an updated plan via Dr Jody text this am adding a penicillin for any possible infections. The hosing in the rain had her shivering so into the barn we went. Two blankets and now warm water fixed that in short order. She stood very patiently while both Britt and I scrubby and picked and applied. Her eating the penicillin took the longest as she was not really thrilled and of course being granular it kept at the bottom even when shook often, it did increase her amount of food and added oats as a treat. I managed to put lots of tack away while she took her sweet time.

Sheldon had come out to the shop to work on the bale elevator we had picked up a few weekends back. It was NOT is good running order as advertised, how frustrating! Back inside for the girls it was time to post a few pics on FB of the big win while Britt relaxed then we had a late lunch @ 2. Another of the first on the scene ladies stopped out to see how Brittany was. She too filled in a few more blanks as to events after the fall. Britt sure is blessed to have so many people continuing to send best wishes and prayers.
She and I worked on her bursary application and homework while Sheldon ventured back to the shop. The sun even came out late afternoon hitting high of 16, higher then forecast for sure. After a cup of tea, Britt had a well needed nap as I threw in a roast for supper. I had to roust the welder and sleeper to join me for the yummy supper (love new potatoes and fresh zucchini from my garden). The rain returned just as Britt and I headed out to hose and doctor Bird, of course ;) but we got her hosed and I did the cream back in the shelter where I had brought her and Julio hay.

Sheldon headed back to the shop to work and Britt got ready to head to college. Hot tea in hand and bags loaded she was off at 8:30 safely arriving by 10. However she had to drive thru torrential rain which never made it to us. Hot shower and bed were in order for her. When Sheldon got back in, he and I finished season 5 of Game Of Thrones.. come on season 6, so many cliff hangers!
