family photos

Shaina was up and off for her 8:30 shift, I was up soon after. Britt had checked in that she took her meds at 7:30 and was going back to sleep. When I checked with her later in the morning, she found she was feeling worse then she expected and maybe would be missing that class after all. She did go for the rabies shot but I had called her after talking to a friend who had one recently and said you get a few weeks of flu symptoms.. maybe talk to the nurse I said and she agreed, NO SHOT for B.

I headed out to hose and treat Birdy and of course feed Julio. Tonight we have family photos slated. All the plans I had for our first professional photo shoot have gone out the window but this week provided a great reminder to the fragility of life so whatever will be will be.. we are all here ready for our closeups ! ;) So I finished the sign I wanted and got clothes for Sheldon and I set out. I had great intentions of having manicured lawns and bathed and groom horses and dogs out the window due to such an eventful week, I was lucky to give horses a quick brush after lunch. I did apply Swat to bird now as the darn flies were bothering her and I tried to shave off bot eggs from her and Switch. Next in line was brushing Lola. As I was getting ready to scrub up big D I got a message from photographer saying . "Not today?! I have you down for next Friday...... This is terrible!"

Time for a shower and plan B, tripod to the rescue :) I called and had Shaina bring home supper from the golf course and poured a tall frosty paralyzer. This has been quite the week ;)

Britt arrives safely home courtesy of Grady just before 5 and Sheldon pulled in soon after. Kaylin followed as everyone chowed down and got ready. Sheldon had a nap while Shaina kindly curled my hair and Kaylin applied my eye makeup and made me look "10 years younger" once the eye brows were filled in, well thanks my lovelies!! XOXO

While we were getting ready, one the first 2 responders stopped to see if Brittany was ok. She was another neighbor down the road named Stacey and she laid on the road with Britt talking to her, holding gauze on her head bleed and keeping her calm. She filled in a few more blanks and was so happy to see Britt looking so much better then 2 days ago at the near same time. Thanks Stacey, we really appreciate your kindness for our B.

Finally the big event got started but of course not without chaos of dogs chasing horses, eating fresh horse poop, squinty eyes in the sun and a dog drinking a paralyzer left sitting on the ground! Then the combining started up next door sending a dust cloud our way, the horses booked it out of the pen after only 2 caught, and the mosquitoes came for blood.. never a dull moment. Is there at least one keeper in the pile? These are unedited, fresh off the roll

only Daisy will play the game and Lola super relaxed after drinking Shaina's paralyzer!
think I am in a hole so tried to stretch lol

skulking around the camera curiously, note to self catch horses ahead of time!
 roomies
note Britt had changed to hoe but she is in top right ;)

note: Diego tried to get in EVERY photo ;)
 3 roomies!!
Britt stopped long enough to get a family pic in the sunset, my favorite time of day
B snapped these 2 inside after other 2 left, the smooch ended her career ;)
Just as my favorite time and the golden hour for photos arrived the troops had had enough. Britt changed and caught Bird. I helped her by holding while she hosed and applied the cream then as Bird ate her food, I gave her a leg up. Both were very content and happy to be back together. I gave the bute and Britt let her back in the pen and we came in to join the house bodies who were loading up to head home as it was not 8:30 and getting dark.
I sent this to Amanda to show her the curls the girls made for me even lasted till nights end ;)

I doctored up Britt with some large gauze and polysporin on the abrasions but only had painters tape to hold on, will see how that stays on by morning. She got tucked into bed with Netflix, Sheldon got tucked in with his stack of mail and was soon asleep while I locked up, turned out lights and updated the blog.. it is now time for sleep, Lord knows we all need a good solid 8 hours.. lets see if it can happen!
