Father's Day golfing

Another hot day looms, but it was lovely out on wake up just after 7. I briefly awoke at 5, not because of dogs needing to go out, noisy birds, traffic, or snoring, but due to my internal clock. Dave was out at 8 to feed Suzi, check on Baz, drop off Cooper, and then head to the track to train before it got too hot, we already had coffee brewing. S left at 8:30 for his final two loads of gravel. Meanwhile, I focused on completing the Stampede day, which involved a significant amount of photo, video, and editing work.

S finished all the hauling by 10, took a rest, and then gathered the tools for later at rental in town. He also treated the hot tub with shock and cleaned the filters. After completing and publishing the Stampede post at 11, I went out to do some watering and weeding. We enjoyed a delicious leftover lunch featuring potato salad and cheesecake, courtesy of Ma K! my seed planters are doing well

S took a nap while I went outside to water the planters in the blustery 27-degree weather. Afterwards, we loaded Lexi into the car and headed for town, stopping at the dump to dispose of trash and recycle cardboard. Our next destination was the rental, where S worked on the fireplace and I applied more grey caulk to the door transitions. Meanwhile, Lexi explored the place and inspected the backyard.

Think I forgot to share THIS is what was found UNDER the flooring in the master bedroom!! When I inquired to there being something there and they assured me they sweep and clean every board as it goes down!

We paused to take her to the veterinarian. She weighs 9.7 kg, and the cause of her paw licking might be bacterial presence in her paws or a possible grass allergy, similar to Harley's condition. Her nails were trimmed, and she was prescribed chlorhexidine mousse for application over the next three weeks, along with a bag of her lower-dose Prozac medication.

Returned to the rental to clean the contacts on the fireplace switch. S opted for a brand-new switch, but before we set out to get it, we addressed the water issue on our checklist. It turns out it was merely years of condensation accumulating on a copper pipe—no real problem. However, he did snap off the clamp as the nail was rusted. The third issue was the self-closing door hinge, which will be tricky since no local stores carry them and they vary in shape, complicating online orders. After a trip to Rona in the sweltering now 30-degree heat, the new switch was installed and functions well.

We bid farewell to the house and set off. Next on the list was a quick grocery run. I dashed in while S and Lexi waited in the air-conditioned car in the shade and picked me up when I texted. Once home, it was time to feed the dogs and prepare B's food, which I had forgotten to soak, as it was already 4 o'clock. S settled in for a nap with big brown, and I focused on writing today's blog.

We headed to the city after 5 with a loop thru town to get our favourite Opa for supper. Today we added the tasty lemon fries as a treat. We were greeted by little miss who is now running around the townhouse. She is really on the move now. We visited till the golfing crew - Kaylin, Nathan, Shaina and Matt along with he Father of the day headed to meet Britt and Dave at The Launchpad down south before 8. This is the girls Father's Day gift for their dad. They all had a great time enjoying golf, beverages and snacks. Renn and I enjoyed our time back at the house. She snuggled into her bed after a bath and story time chatting to her animals for about 25 minutes then into dream land.

I did try and take Beans for a quick walk around the block with no success but K & N took both out when they got back around 10:30. Everyone headed to bed and us back to the ranch. I had us safely back after midnight where S was off to sleep after perusing his phone and I watching more Owning Manhattan.
