By the time I woke up at 7:30, it was already 21 degrees. I headed outside to remove Roo's mask and release J from the barn. S prepared the ranger, loading it with chairs and ammunition for the skeet shooting event. The neighbor's mom, who is keeping an eye on the place, came by to collect Tony before 9. The temperature had climbed to 24 degrees and climbing by 9 o'clock when Dave dropped by to share his morning stories and adventures.
Glen and Roxy arrived shortly after he went to the track. The temperature was 27 degrees as the guys set up the wobbler skeet shooter. Everyone enjoyed fresh coffee, some with creamer added. Roxy and I sat under the shade of three tall spruce trees operating the pull trigger. We took a few breaks for cold beverages before it was time to check on everyone and pack up to leave at 1 PM. It looks like the smokies, veggie tray and snacks will have to wait for another get together as they had a contractor to meet at 2.
I was still full from the late lunch, but S was hungry, of course. He grilled smokies on the BBQ. I made a salad and picked a fresh garden onion for him to add, along with the sauerkraut to his sausages. After dinner, he went to install the new parts in the weed eater, and I went to the garden. Even at 30 degrees, the golden hour made it enjoyable. I removed all the fences for S to weed eat around the beds and gardens following his successful repair. He also cleaned up weeds in the shop area. Thankfully, it's working again. I also set the sprinkler on the apple trees. Britt was out doing her usual horse activities at 8. She headed home as we were enjoying a cold water on the deck after 9. We ended another hot and busy day with some 'House of Dragons' after a refreshing shower.
