more dresser steps

I started this morning with chai tea, no coffee as I planned yesterday. Lets see if it helps.

I touched up the mirror with a 2nd coat then sponge sanded it before heading to the garage to find a stencil and gold to add to the edges. Once I found it all it did not work as planned and the plan morphed into finger rubbed edges and dark wax. A squall of snow rolled in and blew for a bit then gone another round came later in the afternoon too.

I snapped a pic of the jewelry box painted last night and decided it need dark wax too while I had it out.

The custom called lazy susan was power sanded then the first coat of blue paint applied.

In the garage I mixed up & applied another color coat with a texture medium, this time light grey. Once dry I painted the entire dresser a greyish white and using a wet rag wiped it back.

The extreme wind yesterday blew the paddock gate closed to the waterer so I ventured out in the -1 brr temps to open. While out there I opened the far paddock gate and checked all the shelters for salt before coming in.

Late afternoon when the horses were at the closest well I took Hawk's meds out to him (it was now at the high of 1). Back to marketing and updating spreadsheets and photo albums and so on. This part of my job is the most time consuming portion but it is only way I can sell my wares so a necessary evil.

The dresser was sanded then a dark grey glaze added for even more layers. Time to cook up a hamber goulash for little ole me for supper. Britt is waiting to see how my back feels if we are doing the cow clinic tomorrow but may come out anyways after supper.

Before it got dark I got the quad out and drove out to the horses. Dave told Britt he noticed Switch was off yesterday when he same and today she seemed ok then I noticed from afar a bit off. When I checked she seemed ok so decided that even with my back sore and her a bit maybe we will go tomorrow. Back to the house and hook the truck to trailer were next. And I backed in like a pro, wahoo. And just like that it was dark by 7. Inside the garage I put another coat of blue on the lazy susan and dry brushed the dresser white.

In the house it was back to computer work with Grey's on the iPad eventually moving to soak in the tub then crawl into bed. Britt and Cooper arrived at 10
