private paint class

Today is set to be a private milk paint class starting at 10. Britt was up and off to work early and I got moving before 8. The usual checking all my venues for sales and such with a coffee started my day before heading out to the garage to do last minute things. I made ice tea, refilled the snack tray (Britt), cleaned the bathroom and set last of the items out.

The gal took a wrong turn but did arrive just after 10. It was nice and sunny but so windy, perfect to work inside. It was a really nice private class with the girl creating a unique step stool in dark brown and black waxed grey like my quilt stand.

While she painted I painted the sweet stool I recently got in cream yet again. After she was off just before 2 I put a coat of hemp oil on it. The afternoon had turned to a 14 degree gorgeous day out with no wind, just the sun so I pushed my plants outside.

As I got started on painting the sofa table I found the paint reacting oddly to the 2 coats of concealer I had put on days ago.

A quick message to the paint president and we decided best to wash it off and start again. SOOOO out I went to wash off all the concealer then sand it, wash and when dry I put on a coat of primer. Never is one out of lessons. It could be the batch - she is going to test it or it could be the surface was just too smooth. No matter as a customer piece I have to be sure the paint will not scrape off in the future or look like crap so best to start again.

Around 5 the clouds rolled in, boo! I put a coat of primer on the whole sofa table and will leave to dry well.

B rolled in at 6:30 heading straight to the shop to fill her tire and toss a bale, good girl! I was cooking us supper and after she joined me to hike to the gate to pick up the highway clean up goodies. The one box was much heavier then I anticipated lol Back home we trimmed Mr J's mats quick. Sheldon was home around 11 from his week up north.
