on to Edmonton and back again

Saturday was dreary and I ended up with weird neurological hand cramping and arm muscles soon after waking but they eased with orange juice. Randy made a late breakfast before we started north to the capital. But first a stop at Kaylee’s new home to see it and meet her little Maliya .

On the route to Edmonton, the rain started and got nothing but worse. It was only 3 pm when we arrived at the hotel but seemed like evening as so dark. We waited for our rooms to be ready over a couple drinks and some nachos. Free time from 5-7 had us getting to our rooms and relaxing some even catching a nap.

the bed and pillows were so comfy I had to see who made it

Now it was go time, off to the river Cree casino where the plans were to have a nice supper before the Ron White show. This did not pan out so well with an hour wait at the restaurants so sadly we had to grab a bratwurst for Sheldon and egg salad sandwich for me ;(

yep a loaded bratwurst to boot

A bit of gambling was had by Sheldon and Randy before we got drinks and our seat. What a funny comedian Ron is, lots of laughs were had. A remaining drink ticket had us finding a table to have another drink before heading back to the hotel. Unfortunately Yvonne’s shingles had her on medication so no drinks for her but it was fortunate for us, she could be a DD. Of course by now, we were all starving and the only place we could find was a 24 hours MacDonald's drive thru across from the hotel. With bags of burgers and fries we hit our room for yet another social beverage, laughed about the night and shut it down late yet again.

Sunday, the sun was out,Hallelujah, what a difference. And it is Nov 13 and plus 14, wow! We got showered and checked out and on the road by 10:30. A Tim's stop in Leduc was the breakfast stop before getting back to Red Deer. The boys had a beer in the sunshine before Sheldon and I made our way home. But first, food!! The craving for a bowl of soup from last night was satiated at a yummy eatery called the chopped leaf where we had soup/salads then grabbed a booster juice and hit the road. By now the sun was gone but it was still a nice day for November.

I decided I should check the "store" again since we were passing right by and on the correct side of the #2. This did not pan out so well when a police officer popped out from behind a tree and gave us a speeding ticket just before the store ;( There was good news in the store with another of my items selling as well as more of Monica's. I rearranged things and made it all pretty and we were once again on our way, slower this time ;)

Costco was our next stop before heading back to the ranch to unload after 5. It had hit 16 degrees here, nice! Britt was home at 6 after helping decorate the tanning salon for Xmas. We had a visit to catch up on her pet care w/e before she jetted back up the roads we just came home on to get back to Olds. THANKS Britt for keeping the home fires burning. Sheldon packed up all his bags and hit the sheets, the 4:30 am ride to the airport will come early. I fought with the HORRIBLE internet service to try and get the blog caught up for last 4 days.
