frost beauty

Darn Diego beckoned at 7:40 today, sheesh. The entire yard was covered in frost. Time for coffee and pet care which is quite a routine as cats are now fed at the house till we catch the tom too. This however was my reward..

so pretty

Shaina rousted herself for coffee and a bagel and was off to her doctor appointment just after 9 then back to the city with a quick stop at Amanda's.

Britt took this picture in Olds today too

My day 2 paint giveaway went live today, this is open to all friends, family, DIY'er, first timer or pro painter, stop by and enter. Today was a whole lot of hustle to get things in order. RMPC needs a fund raiser so Connie and I are trying to get a booze raffle set up including ordering tickets as well as plans for the year wind party at our house next week. Texting her while painting was tricky but I got it done. I started the day hand painting the grey ruler which I traced out last night. Of course I am always tweaking so the other 2 rulers had the backs poly'd when I put the poly on the grey one once all hand painting was dry. When the 3 coats of poly were dry I brought in to stage.

and the lazy susan makeover got a few shots too

The dresser was my major project; I started painting the body after sanding but it seems I missed some spots that really show up once paint adheres to it. Back out came the sander and smoothing out those areas and painting continued with all pieces getting 2 full coats.

all patched up and ready to paint

but wait once done you saw some missed areas on the front, see below to the far right, sand and try again

Tomorrow is off to the store in the afternoon to reorganize, mark things on sale and add pieces so I got a few pieces I want to move, marked them to go and got the car loaded with things I think I might need to get the booth all ready for the big sale w/e. The custom ruler order will be picked up there.

I had a shower around 6:30 and not longer after I heard a coyote barking like crazy just outside the front door. I was out on the deck shining a flashlight in his eyes right by the round pen!! and my shouts to scram did not scare him. I grabbed a pair of S's running shoes and tromped out, crazy lady in a housecoat and wet hair in too big of runners with big D marching alongside. He moved back a bit but was not long before he was back at it and a whole cacophony of them got going all around us. Chicken Lola was curled up at the back door so both went inside until the chaos was gone.

Sheldon was tuckered from his long day arriving home just before 10 and falling asleep soon after. I FINALLY managed to get Netflix to work after 11 and finished season 1 of The Crown.
