rain finally!

Rain if only a drizzle was coming down at 5:30 when Sheldon got up to get ready for work and continued till I got up at 8. I worked on the nightstand trying the new dark espresso stain over the drawers and not really liking it. The all in one part makes the stain sticky so dries fast and draggy.

Britt was to work with Ty for a short spell today so I asked him to stop and check Baby when he picked her up. Of course the rain began to come down more so while we were all outside but that is OK. He tested her feet and pulse in the legs and suggested ice or cold hosing and continue the bute for another week. It seems a combination of slight angle changes, being overweight and conditioning after her trim all contributed to her lameness. Hopefully time will heal without resorting to wedge shoes or ex-rays. They were then off for a quick run to Okotoks.

there is enough rain to make mud ;)

I got back to painting and the rain eased back to little to none. I repainted the drawer fronts and polyed the top of the nightstand. The cedar chest got more sanding and its first coat of linen milk paint then I repainted yet another coat on nightstand top and drawers.
 see how poly darkens color

Britt was back home just after 2:30, ate her packed lunch and headed down to watch more Vikings season 2. I checked the rain gauges at 3.. one says 2.5/10th and the other 1 cm.. not bad, we will take it. She did join me heading to town, we grabbed a hot Tim's picked up a bed frame, got some goodies at the $ store and ran to my bloodwork appt. Needing a few groceries and such we took a tour thru Walmart getting them and seeds for the garden then checked out Peavy Mart for barn lights. No luck on that but we came out with a cart full of goodies including horse and dog feed, a new riding helmet, dog toy and horse meds. Britt loved her first time in that store. Our last stop was to grab supper at Rice for King and head home to eat. The sun was now out and drying up the roads ;/ Sheldon headed to meet an old Sunshine co-worker for drinks and wings after work.

It was now after 6 so the puppies were glad to see us and Lola loved her new food ;) I think Bird liked hers too. After we ate I was back at the painting, putting a 2nd coat on the cedar chest and distressing & waxing the nightstand, almost done
Britt and I ran back to town just before 10 to pick up the Prince at the bar. B drove him home in the merc where he promptly headed to bed and I finished up housework before retiring.
