Snowy Sunday

Sunday the snow was piled up when we awoke. Britt was off to work for 9 but had problems getting out of the yard in the boat. It seems this car just doesn't have the weight it needs in snow, even 6" and plus 2. She said the trip to town was scary ;-(
tons of heavy snow and plus 2 temps

snapped a couple more pictures of the dark waxed shelf.. so cute if you love green
I enjoyed the snow filled day in the warm garage working on the hutch. I had one drawer handle broke but with my creative solution ideas and Sheldon's well stocked this and that cabinet, I created a super cute new handle, what do you think?
so I considered 2 knobs but it just didn't look right
so being the power tool queen I drilled a new hole, found a knob off my recent antique set
a short fine thread screw in the many drawers of goodies
to create this... and below it is shown with original on the left
Every time I forced Diego out to pee this is what he did..
until he got back to here
Britt was home from work after 3 and spent the evening doing homework?? I also made hamburger soup for a winter day, it simmered away while laundry was put thru as well. Back in the shop after a full clear wax and dry time on the hutch (in which time I worked on spraying hardware and more painting on the Xmas craft)

it was a 2 hour dark wax.. aching traps for sure

left door has been dark waxed, right not yer, really brings out the carvings
so time to mix up one of these and get back to another 5 episodes of The Killing tucked in my warm bed!

  1. Good job on the knob! The hutch is coming along nicely.
Beer would not have time to go bad at our house! You have much more snow than us. Finish on yellow coffee cup stand dies not do well with bits of food. Think a crumb of toast spilled over plate and left a mark which will not wipe off ;-( Working alone today so bit stressed. Doctor's appointment at 10:10 so will just close doors.

  2. no wax finish are not meant for food, wet, oily or heat directly on it, guessing it was the butter... guess the no food in living room rule has changed :-)
