Everyone has projects on the go

Today was significantly cooler, especially with the natural air conditioning from Mother Nature (having the windows open all night). I enjoyed my coffee in bed while quietly scrolling through Instagram, and S had X before quickly hopping into the shower.. I quickly made a Homtalk post for the oak coffee table I restained awhile back. S went into town before 10 for a dental cleaning. I completed the extensive trail ride blog, which includes numerous contributed photos and videos that need to be converted and edited, but it certainly captures our adventure.

Good Morning sunshine

I was gathering the horses in the small barn paddock when Britt showed up with an iced coffee for me—thanks, B! We fed the horses and then caught Switch and Beibs to go first. Vet Ashley got there before 11:30 after visiting Dave's barn. Switch received a comprehensive chiropractic session, which should be very beneficial. Once finished, I went to the garden to start watering and weeding, leaving the girls to tend to the next three horses in line.

I snapped a few photos of the basket completed

S returned from his dental appointment, which astonishingly cost $362 for a mere cleaning. I had preordered from Opa, which he kindly brought home for our lunch – delicious as ever. Afterwards, I placed a roast in the slow cooker, then went to the garage to apply another clear coat on the small end table before bringing it inside to dry. While sanding the magazine rack, a lady inquired about purchasing the square dining table – absolutely! I hurriedly tidied up the main floor in ten minutes and cleared the area around the table by moving items downstairs.

Sheldon drove over to Matt's place to get ack to the chicken coop project. Meanwhile, I was sanding when a table buyer called from the gate. Vet Ashley had just departed, and Britt and Cooper were on their way home, as they arrived at the house before 2:30. The horses had only chiropractic sessions today, so it seems Ashley will return another day for dental care. The table was a definite yes, so I assisted the guy in loading it into their truck, and they set off. The table is destined for a cabin in British Columbia - perfect!

I returned to the garage to continue working on the magazine rack, applying more sanding by power and hand, followed by a coat of white stain oil. After painting the spindles, I let them dry and took the opportunity to reduce the prices of many items online. Additionally, I crafted several sale posts with the aim of clearing out more inventory and increasing the vintage market's visibility to customers. The day stayed very cool hitting a high of 20 but look out there is a heat wave coming again.

I staged the little table too now it is completed as well

I was feeding H when B returned from town around 4:30. She then went out to feed her horses and began cleaning the paddocks. S arrived home simultaneously. He started searching for items on his laptop while I harvested potatoes and an onion, and began cooking the vegetables. We cooked the last of the large cabbage and three zucchinis. It's hard to believe the low yield this year. After 6, S carved the roast, and we had dinner. B paused her work to join us for the meal as S cleaned the pots and pans, and I was busy putting everything away.

After finishing, she went back outside to move the quad and blade, while I applied another coat of paint to the spindles. S considered cleaning up the manure piles and taking them to the pit, but then Dave came to trim hooves with Britt's help. He chatted with Dave over the fence until Dave left before 8:30. B and Coop departed roughly 15 minutes prior to him.

I went outside and began removing all the flowers in the center raised bed since most had become leggy and were past their prime. I pruned more leaves from the tomato plants to let the sun reach the fruit, and I pulled out most of the remaining pea plants. Now that it gets dark by 8:30, it's time to head inside. After finishing up on the computer, we headed to bed to unwind with my book and S with his laptop. It seems we were sleeping for a bit when Sheldon decided to get up and shower before midnight. This required an ice cream sandwich eaten in the dark to go back to sleep :)
