March 1 - in like a lamb

Today is March first and the weather proved to be like a lamb hitting plus 4. Sheldon was off to the city for a 8 am start. I got to work on my projects;  the drawer got a couple more coats of cream then grey washed and done!

I scrubbed up the new little desk and started painting it in milk paint but after 1 coat it started to chip allot and by the 2nd coat most of it chipped off

chipping begins and left is sanded after first coat

as the 2nd coat goes on even more chips and lifts ;(

well darn! So much for hoping for just a bit of chipping, got to love milk paint

Since I had the milk paint made I painted the wood wine case at the same time

check out the difference the color of the base wood makes in the linen color

it chipped in the center but not sides, once dry I hemp oiled it to seal and left overnight to dry

The nightstand was done but one area on the top where a ding was filled showed and bothered me so I sanded it right down to the wood and started over. It was then perfect but the complete redo left a line delineating across it which now drives me crazy.

I started a small tray which I think I will use as my 4th anniversary giveaway. I plan to do it rose gold so started by painting it a soft pink base color.

Sheldon was home by 4:30. He rolled a partial bale out for the fatties before we had supper. I added black glaze to the nightstand but it still shows a line where redo met original. The drawers had wax added and the hardware put back on. Had I got my sanding flush the first time it would all be done yesterday, grrr.

Here is Shaina's grad class and the photo used for a FB ad for her school
