Day 935 again the weather changed at 8 am, prior too it was just foggy but around 8 the wind picked up and it began to howl setting the stage for the next few hours. You could not see to the rails on the horse pasture! Mom and I had coffee in bed and read for a spell.
It was then time to get moving. She made a couple calls to home finding it not like this in Oyen and they planned to go ahead with Uncle Ron's cattle sale. I started waxing the growth ruler then hand painting the family sign on order. Laundry was in the days order as well. I also changed the dressing on Mom's ear and nose. Things are looking ok ;-)
ear just a little puffy and 2 neat stitches on the nose
The storm blew until around 3 when Mom and Shaina loaded up and headed to town, Shaina staying the night at Gail's and Mom going to Amanda's. It still was about -10 but the wind stopping made for a much nicer day allowing the horses to leave the shelter area and eat.
I finished touches on the sign and waxed both it and the ruler a couple times and affixed the hanger. It was then time to cook a most yummy salmon, quinoa and peas supper for Britt and I. Britt made a great effort cleaning her room this afternoon ( ok under threat but she did) then trying lots of clothes on for fun I think.
Brrrr it is cold, and dark early and think the recent weather makes me think.. off to hot bed and bath night. Sheldon called to say the storm did not hit that far north but it was indeed dreary and cold at -14. Tonight was the polocrosse awards and fun night but it is not worth driving on these roads just for a party. Guess we will hear the winners tomorrow
