What a day weather wise, I awoke to snow which must have followed us home. Sheldon was of early to catch a plane and saw it first. As I got busy in the garage working on gluing the old chair in another direction, then starting painting on the press back chairs it was overcast.
Then the sun came out. Amanda (my scout and feedback consultant) had messaged about a free dresser needing a home ASAP. I loaded up and headed to town in the now sunshine about 2:30, grabbed it and a tea and was back to the ranch by 3. Sadly it was a solid.. press board dresser so no use to me. This couple was moving out and they had given me the vintage dresser I just did white /java so did not have the heart to say this was crap so took it home and posted it on free site.
I got back to the chairs, now dry and distressed and dark waxed them. Now a hail/snow storm arrived. Of course since I still had the dresser in the truck. The dresser had a line up of people wanting it so I said first one to come get it, a couple was here in a half hour and loaded it up, once again overcast.
hard to see but top rail is dark waxed, bottom is not
Buffed and looking sharp I added patina wax to all the crevices and spindles and brought in to stage.(PS the sun peeked thru for sunset) The customer loves it and will pick them and the dining table up tomorrow night.
This requires a new dining table for us so I hauled out the 1920's antique oak table I started way back. I spent a few hours sanding down the top and 2 leafs then gave it a good scrub and left to dry overnight. 8:30 time to come in, grab a late snack, have a tub and watch some netflix ;)
