chair is finished!

I made coffee and served the Prince in bed today. He still is struggling to switch around from night shifts, that and I am kind ;) I got busy finishing the chair after reading up a great how to blog. Taking apart the old welting was a challenge but was another great recycling of the old chair parts.

I did change the how to connect strips for the welting after seam ripping out a few times. I choose just to flat match ends and press open with my handy granite ironing board. This worked just fine and once done I could have easily only cut the strips 2" wide vs 2 1/2 as you cut the rest off anyway.

Once it was all whipped up it was time to hot glue gun to the chair. Again another lesson learned, put glue on welding vs chair as it drips and creates work. As well I opted to put the selvage edge up so it could loop over the chair edge and face out but if not for that, down would be easier.
Once it was all assembled, time for its photo shoot and get the blog written up as the contest ends tomorrow. I also managed to get it on Hometalk, post on Pinterest and do last 2 days of the blog.

to attach the table top firmly we flipped it over for better view and accuracy
Sheldon loaded up the recyclables and trash and headed to town, he also stocked up on groceries. Britt arrived home after 3 with most of the rest of her dorm room stuff, followed up soon behind her, Grady, who brought home her mini fridge. They put up in the mezzanine then Grady came in for a quick visit. I jumped in the shower finally finished up after 4 and got a salad ready for supper. Sheldon was home by 5, jumped in the shower too and readied the bison burgers.

Britt was off to town to work a short shift at the tanning salon for Brooke. The Paetz's arrived just after 5:30 for an evening of fun. I hauled up the little TV/VCR combo from the trailer and the kids enjoyed watching Tarzan. Britt was back around 9 and got to visit as well until they loaded up and headed home at 10.
