Projects underway today were clear then dark waxing the Florence chair and frame.
right spindle shows paint no dark wax, big difference right?
The shadow box got a fresh coat of white then the layers of grey, waxes and more layers
It was a gorgeous 24 day, deceiving as it was mainly cloudy. Time to snap some staged pictures before I moved it all down to the storage bedroom. I made homemade soup for supper and had simmering till all got home.
Britt arrived one at 4, everyone was happy to see her after being away so long. Lola even jumped in with a big hug. She loaded in her laundry and bags then checked on all her pets. She hosed and treated Birdy with honey tonight. Sheldon arrived home after his last long shift as she was finishing up then we all enjoyed a hot bowl of the cabbage roll soup, so good! (recipe at end of post)
As we ate, I could see the naughty horses on top of the pile and found the hole I did not reach with the bucket. When we were done, Sheldon and I headed down where he scooped it full and hope it will keep them out of trouble. He walked back to get the tractor and a bale while I put the forks on and waited. Finally I just loaded the bucket, wrap and pitchfork all on the forks and headed to the house.
a little personal grooming
He had go the bale but did not roll out as we hope to have the horses out in the pasture tomorrow once all the bales are moved off. I put out 2 new door mats, which Diego says are great! Sheldon ran to town for a jug of diesel while I put out feed for all the horses. The sky was magical and glowed orange rolling clouds forming a huge chinook arch. It was a stunning display to watch for quite awhile.
Back from town with hot pumpkin teas, so yum Sheldon was soon asleep on the couch and off to bed soon after. Britt got busy catching up on PVR shows and doing laundry. I showered, updated blog and fit in a few more chapters of my book before calling it a night. The chinook winds started about 8 and blew hard albeit 14 degrees warm.
