Holiday Monday started with coffee and pancakes by Sheldon. After a yummy brunch, we all headed out to watch the baling process finally underway then Britt and I caught horses with Riley and Reese and gave them both a riding and polocrosse lesson. This worked well for Britt to condition Bird during the lesson.
Switch always wants to be part of the gang when we do this, she is preparing for her future polox career all on her own
The elders chatted over a cold beer on the deck and once the lesson was finished up Papa & Grama headed home followed soon after by Candace and the boys. Sheldon quickly bought in the 4.5 hay bales and I threw on another poly coat on all wood projects before we jetted to town in the 28 degree heat to take in the final day of the rodeo. Today all events had the top 10 contestants return to combined scores to win the big $$.
A big craving for KFC had us stopping to grab a bucket with fries & gravy enjoying it once back at home. Unfortunately the baler had a cattle escape at his home so had left to corral and only just returning before we got home. It was not long after we were home and all the hot days created a storm that rolled in putting an end to the baling with 9- 1/4 mile swaths remaining ;( Sheldon drained the big shop water tank on the trees all day just in time it seems for the rain portion. A nice hot shower and collapse in our comfy bed rounded out a busy but fun heritage /birthday weekend!!
