sanding & staining success

I had to be sure Britt was up early today at 7, she is to be at school by 8:15 to write her English diploma part A. Grabbing a coffee I got to work on projects. First was to check blue frame inside, perfect. I scrubbed up the lighter one as I will use somewhere inside and I cleaned up the oil painting too as I like it and cant toss any artwork out.
Next I hauled out the rustic pine coffee and end tables and got busy scrubbing good then sanding, taking these tops right down thru 3 grit levels. I also sanded the 2 smaller square ones with 220 as the color was just not right. After wiping down with mineral spirits I let dry good before staining with the java gel again. This time I liked the color much better.
first I had to replace the filter and pad base.. good for a few more projects
 coffee table progress
 matching end table
from yesterdays color, sanded and redone.. better!
Britt went to the gym after school so I headed out to fed cats, horses, pick more frozen turd sicles and take all 3 dogs and Mr J for a walk in the gorgeous evening sunset. Britt arrived home just as I was feeding the dogs and coming inside.

this crazy dog finds it too hot in the garage when sleeping so has to bare her tummy!
After our supper Britt was off to study while I updated the blog. Sheldon arrived home from his flight and Costco run just after 8. Once unloaded, he had his long day of travel nap, oh my! Travis arrived later with some treasures from Mom which we got unloaded before all calling it a day.
