To start the day I stage the little desk, so cute right? I have yet to write the blog post for it ;)
Next I painted the hutch backing black while S tried to beat the melt and roll a bit more bale out. I snapped a few more pictures and finished the window blog post.
The day got better and better temperature wise and hit 10, S did pump the one area a couple times between hockey periods. I procrastinated on the stools but eventually went out and painted them the 2nd color.
I put another coat on the backing and when dry attached it back on. S helped me bring both pieces inside and let to sit for a bit. Then it was time to start the custom dining table. This did not go as planned. This factory finish that was disintegrating has to be removed or will show and possibly continue to flake. I hand scraped, tried mineral spirts, power sanding and then stripper but nothing really worked. I worked one end the most and eventually sanded, wiped and came in for a cold beer. Frustrating piece grrrr
I moved on to staging the hutch inside and wouldn't you know it, the backing area where the sellers kid stepped on it while getting out of the truck, shows now that it is inside.. GRRRRR But I carried on and posted it is disclosing the blemish. Time to walk away from the painting biz for the day.
Between hockey games all day and the occasional water pumping S was tuckered. Maybe it was the sun too but after we ate supper and he caught some more of another game but soon was sound asleep by 9. I worked on writing up the hutch blog post and got it shared on my FB page. I also gave Lola her 3 dewormer pills ala liver strip and peanut butter, perfect!
