dresser finished, its a keeper

Hmmm 6:45 and awake.. maybe I should take up jogging.. nah! After checking emails and getting all answered I was off to the garage with my coffee. Time to work on the saltwash projects and the dresser.
good and dry and ready to roll
 dry brush on navy randomly

 my saltwash work area
once dry on went a full coat of turquoise
then again once dry, I dry brushed on some of the milk paint I was using on the dresser
and then left to dry good again.. once dry the fun part.. sand and reveal, tada!!
I really think it has a beachy look so repeated the process with the big mirror
navy random
then solid turquoise
dry well
and sand, then both pieces got a coat of poly to seal and I flipped the tray and painted the bottom then gave it a coat of wax, not quite done but enough for today
in between drying times the dresser had its work done, a couple more coats of paint went on the body then time to seal when dry, I am using hemp oil for the first time on both stain and milk paint, see the difference it makes over stain shown on the left
and here on the paint, again the left side
the hardware got a good scrubbing, dried and then polished, again the left is polished, I like to keep original hardware where I can,

the top drawers had mismatched crazy knobs but luckily I had 2 turquoise ceramic ones that work perfect!
set together to test, drawers needed waxing and a couple realigns but pretty good for an old girl, I added new screws to affix mirror holder to the body and with oily rags gave the whole thing drawer edges and back a good soaking wipe

Another project while pieces dried was more staging on the hutch, since I have a new one to paint I better get this one sold
so here is first and last picture (many in between that get critiqued but so worth the help). can you see the changes that make for a bigger impact?

Britt claimed to be cleaning her room today, hopefully it is a true story. She did take the vacuum down so that is something ;) She was kind enough to help me haul the dresser sans drawers and mirror down to Shaina's room where I had rearranged and vacuumed making a nice spot for it.

I am not a two tone paint fan but I love me some stained wood, what a beauty!! I just love the sweet details and curves and yes those chippy areas are meant to be there, it is what milk paint does, keeps it vintage to its age

all the hustling in and out moving furniture, it was nice to come into the A/C, although only 23 outside, my garage was 28!!

In order to work off her riding lesson, Britt begrudgingly scooped pet poop for an hour. Sheldon was home from work about 3:15 and by 3:45, the old dryer drum was loaded in the dump trailer and we were headed north. First stop to pitch it at the dump then scurry to the quarry to get a load of pea gravel. Trees were on sale so we chose a couple, (thanks to anniversary cash!!)  S and the worker loaded them up while I picked out 6 spirea then loaded them up too before heading home as the rain moved in. It was 19 when heading to town and now just over an hour later it was 9! And the rain was coming down, Britt was watching Netflix at the island with the frantic pacing Coco.

A quick rainy day supper was made before Britt was off out the door to Standard Sports day, she packed rubber boots, runners and flip flops covering all footwear needs. I worked on blog posts while Sheldon watched the hockey drafts then hit the sheets by 9 after his long day. The rain continued for about 2 hours resulting in almost 6/10ths!!! hooray, the ripped up grass thanks the good Lord!
