not bad weather w/e

Saturday was cloudy with occasional bouts of sun getting to a whopping 13. Shaina and Jenna (who spent the night) were up and out the door after 11 heading to the city. A set of pumpkins was picked up and a lady buying some tack. She visited in the horse pasture for almost 2 hours. She runs a dog sledding business out of Biesiker, go figure.

A few pics in the daylight. I LOVE this piece..glad I persevered
Britt and Sheldon worked on the fence rails while I was busy painting 2 more sets of pumpkins. Again I got to try my skills on the big table saw and am quite good. However after finishing painting and waxing and letting her know she has yet to reply ;-( some people. One set was for me and I not being a fall color fan made mine shades of... blue, right?
just one of the nappers in the sunshine, didn't have camera to snap Britt rubbing Bird as she sat on the ground getting some attention from her special person
I sanded back and antique occasional table outside in the sunshine
Britt went for a fire and sleepover at Kyra's apparently staying up way too late!

Sunday was a sunny 19 day, much better! I was up early putting finishing touches on the vintage dresser which was getting picked up early. My fun pumpkins had stems and leaves added and posted to share, what you think?
It was then on to a new project, a retro long dresser. Big decision is color, would love red but need to keep saleable to the masses so in the end I chose light grey. I tried the pressure washer in the garage, works great but maybe not so good for the lungs so time to open a few doors. The table got a good scrub too. I really wanted to do it red but a gal called it and wants it grey too.

Britt got home late after her sleep over. Sheldon had rails stacked and eventually they put some time in the sun putting up rails as well as the stringers on the windbreak sides on the new shelter. There were lots of breaks to watch football.

This plane was from a few days ago and it buzzed the house all day, must have been a training plane from calgary as same flight pattern over and over.

the retro dresser got tons of sanding, legs put on and then poly over the wood bare areas. I also painted a cute little basket I scored from the take it or leave it awhile back. I hope to get some milk bottles in it. Today I decided to host an open house in late October. Amanda has agreed to join me and showcase her items too. Will post more details soon.

The blue and white dresser I just posted last night on the Langdon site and this afternoon a gal popped out to pick it up. Not a bad day for furniture moving out.
I also performed a small vet procedure on Coco who once again had infected anal glands. Britt was my assistant as Sheldon looked on and passed the towel, great group effort :-) Sheldon spent rest of day watching the endless football games till well into the evening.

  1. What a transformation on Nadine's dresser. Excellent idea in tossing the broken drawer and adding basket!
