Sheldon was home from church before noon, bearing a rose the church had given to all moms (thanks, Sacred Heart!). Unfortunately, the brought no lunch even after chatting about lunch/ supper plans before he left. Hmmm, good thing I had a bagged salad in the fridge because that was then our lunch. Seeing it was dreary, I decided against a walk at the river. Instead, Kaylin invited us in for a BBQ, hearing my lack of lunch and supper plan woes.
I had high hopes of finding bedding and garden plants at Costco, but it was an absolute nightmare. It seemed like everyone in that part of the city was looking for plants too. The return line was incredibly long and slow, and I couldn’t even start shopping while S was stuck in the return line because he had left his wallet at home.
Once we finally reached the front and completed the return, we discovered that they wouldn’t credit the double-charged boxes of oranges because they were from Medicine Hat and needed to be returned there to maintain their inventory. Seriously? How hard is it for computers to have an option for this?
Despite the chaos, we managed to quickly browse through the plants and decided to get out of this craziness. The store was packed with carts and people, like an anthill with sugar poured on it.
Home Depot was our next stop, and they had an abundance of plants. The blustery weather made it brisk to browse the selection before I picked some bedding plants, four tomatoes, and a planter for Kaylin. Thankfully, the sun came out as we were loading into the car.
We headed to the Boysis’s home at 3:30 p.m. where Kaylin was relaxing on her second Mother’s Day while Nate was grocery shopping. She even had to wake up little Miss, who was still sleeping. It was a full-on, entertaining visit with the family. That child is a pixie because she never sits still. The sun was out for most of the time, making it much more enjoyable. Nathan cooked up a delicious supper of baby potatoes, deer sausage that I had brought along (Renn has become a big fan of it dipped in apple sauce -AKA ketchup), green and macaroni salads, and even fancy cookies for dessert. Thank you so much!
We said our goodbyes and headed home after 7 arriving at the ranch 50 minutes later. Britt had spent the afternoon riding, trimming feet inc Switch's THANK YOU! and she fed Harley before she went home. S hit big brown and hockey of course and I to relax in bed and read till 11.
Shaina FaceTimed from her sunny lounger 11:30 am in the Philippines. She was just preparing to take a 4 hour ferry to their next destination. Thanks for the call Dude XOXO
