60 years celebration continues

I prepared coffee and checked in with both Amanda and Sharon, who are visiting today. I jumped in the shower while S took Harley out for a walk and her breakfast. After having cereal, he honed his axe-throwing skills while I updated the blog at the picnic table. The day is overcast with a breeze, yet it's expected to reach 29 degrees.

Amanda, Asher, Aislyn, and Clover arrived at 12. We warmed up the leftover pizza for lunch on the BBQ with no char cooking today. It was an exciting day for Asher; he immediately went to the water with his fishing rod and soon caught a small pike. Amanda inflated one of the new paddleboards, and I inflated the other. They embarked on their maiden voyage, it was challenging due to the wind today but they did it.

Asher set out first then was back for Aislyn

maiden voyage for AJ too

We all embarked on a 4 km walk to the marina, exploring the various beaches along the way, including the dog beach. Once back at the trailer, the Paetz family took a paddle board to the nearest beach, leaving the dogs in the A/C trailer. With little shade available, S, AJ, and I chose to sit at the elevated campsite level under the trees, watching the kids play.

Darren and Sharon joined us after 6 pm. Later, we returned to the trailer for a meal of smokies and wieners, accompanied by an assortment of snacks and vegetables. Thanks to Darren, who supplied wood, we enjoyed a fire, and Sharon brought s'more ingredients, which the two kids absolutely enjoyed.

The Paetz crew packed up and left for home after 9:30. The wind, which had calmed down earlier in the evening, picked up to hurricane status. The Stouts headed to their hotel room in Brooks after 11. We wound down as usual, with S reading for a few minutes and me watching my iPad.
