Roo wraps up boot camp

Sheldon was off to do rodeo things again while I cleaned house, tried to catch up on marketing/tutorials and yard work. Harley and I set out with Switch in the horse trailer around 2:30. At Britt's I just pulled around the gate loop rather then drive down the big hill to turn around. Dave's big rig was on the road too which would add yet another challenge.

I walked Harley down to the trailer to stay with Coop. B drove the merc up to the loop with her tack. We were off meeting the horse trainer Kendall in Turner Valley just 5 minutes late after 4. We followed him with Roo in his trailer to his "office". Britt was so excited to see her after all these weeks.

I tacked up Switch, B started out on Dexter (Kendall's horse) and he on Roo to show her skills. We got a guided off the beaten path tour around Sandy McNabb. It was rugged but beautiful. Roo can cross most things super calmly and sure footed.

Halfway along B and K switched horses. Britt's smile says it all.

Kendall checks cows here daily. We finally came upon a herd and found one cow had a sore foot. For the next while it was chaotic trying to rope her. Thank goodness he had his 2 cattle dogs to help flush them out of the trees.

Finally he roped her and got her doctored up.

We arrived back at the trailer at 8 pm. We rode 8 miles in 3 hours. Once untacked we loaded the girls and were on our way. Kendall was off to yet another pasture to check yet tonight.

I did the same for drop off them off looping at the top gate. B walked Roo down to her paddock. I drove the car down and walked Harley back to the trailer. We arrived back home at 11. Switch was released after her busy day. Sheldon was watching Jaws after having a hot tub.

This was her pre boot camp physique
