It was snowing heavily outside when I woke up to bone-chilling temperatures yet again. I tried a new jumbo coffee pod today, which Sheldon absolutely loved. It overfilled his favourite mug, so it’s sure to become a favourite for him.
Since we’re going through the coffee pods quite quickly, I ordered another shipment. S went out to gather wood to start a fire, but he ended up shovelling the front deck and sidewalk, which had accumulated quite a bit of snow. Once he returned, he started the fire. However, things took a turn for the worse as the house quickly filled with smoke. It seems the flue may have been covered in snow, as it was rolling into the house, forcing the doors and windows to be left open. Not a great day for this, especially with the wind chill making it feel like -32 degrees outside.
Our relaxing day continued very low key spent in front of the fire. Being so cold outside it does not seem to even add heat to the main room but it looks nice. I put some cabbage rolls compliments of Mom K in the oven for a long slow cook. They were delicious as usual but I ate too much. I played brain games at the island while S watched multiple hockey games again from big brown in front of the fire. He did dart out to plug his truck in so it will start in the am for his bison journey. We talked about waiting a day for it to warm up but it would not fit the buyers pickup and Super Bowl weekend plans we have. It was another reading night before lights out.
