Snap it is cold

Oh my goodness! When I woke up at 7 am, the temperature was a bone-chilling -27 degrees Celsius, not even considering the wind chill. While scrolling through Instagram, I stumbled upon an interesting feature. If you type your flight number, including the two airline codes, into your phone or share it with a friend, they can click on it to follow your flight in real time. Isn’t that amazing? On another note, I recently discovered that your iPhone has a built-in money exchange converter within its calculator. You can instantly see the cost of an item in your local currency. These phones are incredibly smart.

I prepared Britt’s horse feed before 8 am since she’s planning to feed at 11 am and then work a night shift. This is a new schedule she’s implemented for Moore’s, which allows her to feed in the daylight after sleeping in on these days. Afterward, I made coffees and delivered one to the prince in bed, he started reading another library book and requested a second while engrossed in it. I then focused on marketing after publishing the custom-painted grey coffee table tutorial. These posts involve numerous emails to paint companies, sharing content on various platforms, updating spreadsheets and link up parties.

Our sweet little "Boo" photo borrowed from Nate

S continued reading while I decided to try a new colour on the coffee table base. I painted two sides and the drawers, but didn’t like the finish. The base still looked orange through the finish, and the legs were too striated. So, I scrubbed everything off. Britt was out before noon to feed the horses and then went to her evening shift, which runs from 3 to 11:30 p.m for the week. This shift won’t be very frequent, but it was created to spread out the shifts so that not just 2 girls work all evenings. The sun peeked out as light snow came down off and on during the day.

paint went on then came off

S was having lunch and watching the news.before heading off for hockey. He took the two boxes of the giveaway glasses to Britt’s step for pickup later. He would also grab about 70 diapers that I had scored for Renn. I had some leftover pork, then I headed back out to apply another coat of the walnut gel stain over the base. It always looks nice when wet, but as it dries, the orange colour becomes visible. I should have avoided applying the darker stain on top, as this is one of my OCD colour issues. UGH!

Now to get a paint order together as I have missed ordering last 3 months. I am well stocked though so would not be imperative to get in. A bit of accounting then supper prep once S made it home after 5 and it was still light out. A high protein chili was perfect for a cold evening. S was onto watching hockey on his tablet and I creating a Canadian proud post. Tonight we both read  our library books to wind down.
