The temperature was -25°C upon waking, which is why we are under an extreme cold warning once again this. Harley went out at 3 and 6 a.m. due to bathroom issues, so it was worth getting up. S was on his laptop and phone all morning while I completed some marketing tasks. Harley's food was delivered, which I stacked in her fridge freezer, and then I soaked the horse feed.
I forgot to mention last night that I was informed I won an unreleased book written by a friend of mine who used to refinish furniture. It is very exciting for her as a mother of three young children, who has transitioned working in furniture to becoming a busy mom and author.
B and Cooper were out at 10:30. She had picked up some GI paste from the vet ground turkey and her Tim's breakfast on the way out. She cooked up the turkey adding cooked rice I had in the fridge to create Cooper's new bland diet he is on, seeing that his loose bowel issue is still ongoing. She then took the dogs for a walk, but Harley's feet were too cold so she was called back. I finished yesterday blog with all the photos and videos.
I applied the new walnut color stain finishing oil to the small table top after hand sanding and wiping while S ran the vacuum around inside. After leftover lunch, he changed the hot tub filters, and I did my Spanish lessons. I soaked my orchids in hopes of more flowers. The one that had sent out a flower shoot has stalled and nothing more has happened. S perused his laptop, updating items for sale adding the leftover sausage casings. I assisted B in learning about pickling spice and its application in her soup preparation today, although Grama is the true expert with pickling spices in her soups.
Trash was loaded and we headed to town in the truck after 3 with the temperature hitting -11. This is supposed to be the warmest day this week. The garbage was tossed at the dump, and our next stop was to power wash the truck of salt and road gunk. Groceries were bought before we loaded the bedroom suite I was offered from a gal cleaning out her parents' apartment. Her husband helped S load the two larger pieces and two nightstands while I managed to get lengthy mirror in the backseat.
More RO filters were picked up, including a set for Mom, before we grabbed a tea and headed home. The furniture was hauled into the garage to await its turn at re-loving. I started supper by cooking up one of the HF meals; it ended up not too bad even with the frozen snap peas. S hustled to the TV room to watch the 4 Nations hockey, leaving me to work on today's blog and wash up all the pots and pans.
I finally had graham wafer crumbs to make the cherry dessert I had wanted to make 2 Christmas's ago. As the title suggests, it is going to be yummy. Once it was in the fridge to firm up, I finished cleaning the kitchen and back to writing today's blog watching the Morning Show on my iPad as S had moved to the TV. Eventually I joined him attempting to read my book until it went into overtime. Canada came out victorious. We watched the new Prime Target episode then started a new series but S fell asleep so I reverted to some Morning Show.
