There appears to be a crack in the cold snap we experienced, as the temperature is -17 degrees Celsius when we woke up after 7 a.m. Despite the sunshine, a wind persisted. While S prepared to embark on his long road trip to collect bison, I made the coffees and fed our indoor pets. Before leaving, he indulged in a refreshing shower and a hearty breakfast. S hit the road by 9 a.m. He is off to Kindersley, back to Oyen then to Medicine Hat to stay the night.
I’ve been working on updating more affiliate links in tutorials and doing some marketing. I’ve sold all the furniture pieces except for the green half moon table. I have a lot of home decor, but most of it is listed on Etsy. I need to finish some pieces, so I’ll get back to the ones I’m currently working on.
B and Cooper were put to bed at 11, and the temperature was now -14 degrees Celsius. It’s still extremely cold, but it’s much warmer than it was in the past five days. I was in the garage, filling the fold-down table leg edges with wood filler. Then, I mixed up some warm white milk paint.
I clear coated the coffee table top and while it dried I painted the little table.
After a quick bite to eat, I wrote a Hometalk post for the grey painted tall dresser. Then, I returned to the table and applied another coat of milk paint. I enjoyed the sunshine lying in bed, practicing Spanish with a latte. Afterward, I went back out to the garage to feed Harley and applied a second coat of clear coat to the table after a light sanding and wiping. The temperature was now to a high of -10 degrees Celsius. While it normally would be considered cold, I imagine the horses are quite comfortable after that sub zero deep freeze of late.
I finished the last cabbage roll, gave Harley a pedicure then took a relaxing soak in the tub filled with pretty blue water while listening to a podcast. Afterward, I changed the sheets on the bed and spent the evening catching up on more episodes of the Morning Show. S enjoyed visiting with his Dad after picking up all the bison and his Mom once back at their place to spend the night.
