Family day

How about waking up to a temperature of -30 degrees Celsius? I can’t wait for Thursday to arrive, as they say the cold front is expected to break then. Shaina mentioned that it’s chilly in Paris, and back at Matt’s, the snow has reached halfway up the side of the house, which is the most snow his neighbour has ever seen there.

The weather was unpredictable, with the sun shining brightly followed by fog and then back to the sun. We had planned to visit the city and spend a family day with the Boysis’, but unfortunately, our little Renn is in a terrible state, boogery and sick with fever still at 39. As a result, they’ve decided to stay indoors and hunker down during this deep freeze, just to stay warm and comfortable.

Time to wrap up yesterday’s blog and publish it. I then gave the little table's brass toe caps a golden update and let them dry.

For lunch, we had a bit of a fridge clean-out. S was relaxing in the big brown room, perusing his laptop, when he noticed that the Canada-Finland game was starting. When he turned it on, the game was already on and over halfway through. He headed down to the TV room to watch it. I worked on Tantrix solitaire puzzles.

B ventured out to feed in the now -18 degrees Celsius, but at least the sun was shining brightly. She brought out my tallow body cream, which she had picked up for me, eager to try this new, trending product. We watched a movie called Instigators, lying in the sunshine on our bed.

3 minutes in the life of Renn

Beans is such a good sport for her entertainment

After the movie ended, S napped, and I prepared supper. As the sun began to set, the fog rolled back in. I made a Mongolian bison and cabbage skillet, which was incredibly delicious. We both ended up having two bowls. NOTE - Instead of using fake brown sugar, I used coconut sugar. I definitely plan to make this again.

S headed down to watch another hockey game on the big screen. After completing a few more Tantrix puzzles, I made a fancy decaf cappuccino and took them down to watch some of the game with him while we sipped our drinks. I headed to be and started a new show called Apple Cider Vinegar with another break to make us yogurt bowls. I delivered his just as Sweden beat USA.
