The weather, as predicted, is changing rapidly. When I woke up at 7:30, the temperature was -12 degrees Celsius and dropping. To break my coffee habit for an hour after waking, I decided to mentally organize my tasks and then indulge in some relaxing Instagram scrolling, admiring the beautiful photos.
After S woke up, I brewed my first cup of coffee, and he requested one too. However, he wasn’t satisfied with just one, so we made two more, one for each of us. I opted for an iced coffee to enjoy on this chilly morning. Outside , everything was covered in hoar frost with a grey sky, making it a cozy and relaxing time to stay in bed. Harley was relaxing too and didn’t even have breakfast until almost 10:30.
While S settled in with a library book and I continued with my marketing tasks, I also worked my blog. I decided to declutter my pantry, which took up the entire morning. Surprisingly, I found a few forgotten items, which was a pleasant surprise. I also went through and purged many items, allowing me to take stock of what we needed and set out a variety of snacks, much to Sheldon’s delight. He quickly went out and rolled out a partial bale of hay in front of the house shelter.
We had a sandwich for lunch, and then he started working on 2024 taxes and I did accounting. It seems our Royal Bank statements are all online, and I forgot to update them, so that took a while. It also involved a couple of long waits on hold that ended up frustrating. Britt was out to feed, and she also put a blanket on Switch, thanks a lot. Some parts of the day had snow falling sideways in the wind, while others were just plain cold, at -19 degrees Celsius at 4 pm. Britt is off to the Flames game tonight - only for the ice cream she says much to Sheldon's chagrin.
I then cleaned my desk catch-all tray, tossing a pile of papers out. This purging, as of late, has been feeling great to start the year. S finished up working on the taxes for the day. I put a pork roast in the Instant Pot and used the last of my homegrown potatoes to mash them up. They are getting soft and sprouting eyes, so I will keep them for seed potatoes. It was a delicious supper. We both cleaned up while he watched hockey, and I finally managed to put yesterday’s blog up before 9 pm. There were a few photos of Renn, :) We ended the night watching another Bad Monkey episode.
