Day 7 ~ Tour day

Today we rented a car, a little red Nissan march. And off we went with a cooler of beer and snacks..

did you know aloe plants flower?

 yep everything American is here
Once we wound our way out of our hotel area we headed west to Cabo San Lucas with the first stop at a swim-able Empacadora beach by the marina. Apparently Denzel Washington's 10 million yacht was there with a helicopter but who really knows.

dog sanctuary.. it had many shapes and sizes

just a wee boat

A quick stop to finally get pesos at an ATM (all banks closed as today is confederation holiday) and we were on the road north heading to Todos Santos. It was about an hours drive with lots of cactus and shrub laddened desert. The highway itself was really nice 2 lane divided and the 90 km speed signs meant nothing we learned. It was more like Texas and perhaps referring to the slowest you could go!

water slide for sale, anyone??

Todos Santos is the home of the famous Hotel California. It actually has changed they say but still is very small with only 11 rooms. 3 drinks cost about $10 so not bad although the margarita seemed to be frozen lime aid. We drove around the town, found another beach with 2 horses and 2 dogs who wanted to be our friends.

Sheldon plans to build this table set ;)

my photos include lots of unique decor of course ;)

just your average restaurant front <3

WTH, the merc followed us!!

my new homes back yard ;)

 2 local cowboys

our new canine friends

this is fencing choices, tree trunks or cement squares! The entire highway is bordered in the cement ones!!!

On route back south we found a popular surf beach called Los Cerritos. Drinks were much pricier here and we had a ways to drive yet so we just checked it out for a bit, and its RV park and were off again. Actually the peddlers made it easier to leave too as saying "no gracious" every 5 minutes is painful.

yes this is the RV park!!

Back in Cabo, I navigated us to yet another famous bar called Cabo Wabo owned by Sammy Haggar. This place was hopping in the mid afternoon but we stayed for a drink. You could drink 3 times the drinks up north for the same price. Darn the luxury cruise port jacking up prices.. that or just because it is a famous bar.

It was now late afternoon and time to venture to the hotel for supper. A missed turn gave us the perfect opportunity to stop at Santa Maria beach just a few minutes past our hotel. It is one of the few swim-able public beaches and turned out to be well worth the stop. Sheldon got to demonstrate his ocean dives while Candace and I looked on.

As the sun began to set we made our way back to the hotel to eat and catch the Mexican fiesta evening show. It was an action packed last day for Candace.
