Family week in the Mayan Riviera

We were all up early setting off for the Kuhn's celebration vacation with all 15. Grama and Papa celebrated 55 wedded years along with an 80 and 75th birthdays. Instead of a big party here, we were lucky enough to celebrate these milestones in the warm sunny Mayan Riviera.

Travel day getting there took some time even though we left the hotel at 6:30 am. The 5 1/2 hour flight had us there after 4 pm EST then thru a very long immigration and luggage line. Did you know January 2 is the busiest day of the YEAR at the Cancun airport? HAHA we do now. The hurry up and wait lines continued for the transport bus to the Sandos Carocol Eco Resort and the check in there. Eventually we did manage to drop our bags in a couple rooms, eat finally at the buffet and check out the resort in the dark as it was now 10 pm.

The next 6 days were filled with lots of eating, drinking and catching vitamin D. The weather the first part was unseasonably low but the last 2 days were scorchers.

The large family oriented resort had lots to do and as you can see by the pictures that will follow there was not many times when all 15 were in the same area together other then most evening meals. Here is the only picture of us all together taken just before we got on the bus to head home.
