Switch's sole pops a hole

Coco woke me just before 3 am, seems we forgot to let her back once we went to bed hahaha. Then it was a pretty good sleep until 9:40.. WHAT!!! felt great. I checked CM messages and the sign gal hoped to pop out at 9:30, uhm sorry lets try for tomorrow ;) Coffee with special creamer served in bed is always an awesome treat, thanks Prince!

seems my "puppy" needed a place to bury her horse hoof trimming!! bad Lola

Britt pulled in around 11 missing ball but also deciding against polocrosse jackpot today. That was ok as we had lots to do. First she came out with me to treat Switch's foot with the ACV bag boot. I then put another coat of chalkboard paint on Marissa's glass then dark and clear waxed her frame. My big project was hauling out yet another antique dresser and getting to work. First step was sanding down the top. I love stained tops as you know and wanted to see the wood under this faux painted piece. It did not disappoint. the entire body and all drawers got their scrub down with soap, TSP and hot water rinsing well. They are always so dirty and this just reassures me of the best job before putting hours more work into it.

handles were even painted over with stain/paint so they are soaking

the round coffee table we picked up a few w/e's ago got a sanding and scrub down too.

scrubbed and moved in to dry

Brit was to work on laundry but ended up asleep of course. Sheldon got busy getting the swather ready and did some final sifting on the spilled oats. The rocky remnants he ran to Matt to feed his chickens. His big project was installing a new door sweep on the horse door in barn. It seems the one he bought was a different brand requiring all new holes drilled .;(

I finished up around 4 and was putting everything away as clouds rolled in when I decided to remove the "boot". Sheldon was finished and headed to the house.. for a nap. Britt was finally awake and feeding Bird and KD their herbs. Now thunder was rolling and lightening now and then.  I noticed Switch's foot off balance so grabbed the rasp and took it down a bit and found a bruise. It was also soft around her so back to the barn to grab a hoof knife and see what was up. It was not long and a soft area revealed blood. Britt filled a bucket with hot water to wash as I gathered more "boot" materials. She did not however have good soak after tipping the bucket soon after I put her foot in. So the ACV boot was back on.

Not long after being back inside the rain did start. I got to cooking supper then after chowing down I headed out to catch Switch and check her foot. Britt was off to yet another party and sleepover so no help as my assistant. The draining hole still bled a bit but no real abscess was visible so I packed it with sugardine mix and rewrapped after chatting with the on call vet. I tried setting up the stall for the first visitor but after getting food and water and shavings all set she found it too stressful so I put her back out with the other 2 girls making her much happier.
