753 - girls meet miss Ada (many photos)

Day 753 started with slow rain just before 9. Fingers crossed it settles in for a few days as we are sooooo dry. Coffee with special creamer enjoyed in front of a fire I made started the day! The morning was spent removing dead and semi dead trees and planting new ones. We planted the semi dead ones down at the tree nursery to see if there is any coming back. Seems the rain did not last long at all but any is better than none.

 pulled out the first of 3 ivory silk lilac tree.. cost $472.50 EACH and

 replacing with a baileys select Shubert.. cost $31.49

 lets take a chance on this variety

planting a honey crisp apple which again the first one was crazy price and the replacement, affordable

then we pulled out a dead evergreen.. at least I think it is ;-)

and because there was the ring of green on the bottom of the lilacs

 we took them to the tree nursery

 dug a trench

 and planted them and the honey crisp to see if they can survive

Shaina arrived home around 10 after getting home at 2:30am with Shannon then they quadded to the neighbors for a hot tub and never returned! She then caught a ride to town to get her car and drop soup mix off with Mom at Amanda's.

Britt arrived home from her sleepover just after 1 as we were finishing up with the last tree. A lunch break for us workers and after some flogging Shaina cleaned the dishwasher out and washed pans. Britt showered preparing for meeting miss Ada I guess. I jumped in the shower too after lunch then cleaned while Sheldon graded the road on the way to Matt's where he did some skidsteer work for him. He arrived home finally just before 4 when we were all very ready to go to town.

Shaina was very excited to meet Ada and poor Britt was so tired she slept for much of the time but eventually woke to join the festivities. Kaylin and Aaron arrived just before 6. Steve and Jenny made a quick stop too. Mom had made hamburger soup for anyone hungry and of course celebration beers were enjoyed by a few.

We all headed out about 9, Kaylin and Aaron back tot he city where A leaves ont he bus north to work tonight at midnight for 2 weeks. At the ranch Papa and Grama were waiting for us excited to see Miss Shaina.

the kitties are getting stronger and learning to walk, Coco tried to be a nanny!

We visited until about 11 when everyone hit the sheets. Phew another busy day!
