It's a party day ahead with so many celebrations happening.
The morning started the usual way with lattes and plans for the busy day ahead. Mom and I managed to get ourselves sidetracked down the Ancestry rabbit hole for a while before realizing we should probably get moving. Today is Archer's 10th birthday. Happy cake day, little buddy!
We headed to the city just after 10:30, dropping Mom off for a visit with her 100-year-old friend before making our way to the Boysis' house. Party preparations for Renn's 3rd birthday party were already well underway. Bottles were loaded into the truck and Nathan and S headed off to the depot while the rest of us tackled jobs around the house. (They scored $165!!)
Jim and Nicky had arrived the night before for the weekend and were busy putting together a bed frame in the spare room after Shaina's went to her new home. Meanwhile, Kaylin, Nicky and I got the food prepped and finished off the last few party details while keeping Renn entertained.
Around 4, Sheldon, Shaina and Britt went out on the deck to catch Riley and Mai's wedding in his living room. Kona had the important role of flower girl and quickly became the star attraction. Not long after the party moved out on the deck now the sun was back out.
By 5 the crowd had started to thin out, leaving just family and a few of the remaining guests. More presents were opened. Pizza was ordered as the hockey game got underway and before long B was off to the next birthday celebration of the day—Shaina's.
S, Mom and I headed home at start of second period, convinced the game would surely be finished by the time we got there. We couldn't have been more wrong.
Back at the ranch around 8:30, we settled in with beef sandwiches while S watched hockey. Mom and I returned to our Ancestry project after I gave her a lesson on joining iPhone albums, adding photos and saving pictures. As usual, Ancestry turned into a rabbit hole and the hours disappeared.
The hockey game stretched into double overtime while S eventually retreated to bed and finished watching a movie. By 12:30 Mom and I finally called it a night too. Cooper was spending the night and made sure he joined us as we turned out the lights.

So much birthday excitement, hockey and education squeezed into one day!
