Busy as the bees

Cooper was certain he sensed danger at 6 a.m., but he was convinced to go back to sleep. The sunrise was beautiful, but I ended up sleeping for half an hour and up after 7 a.m. I made coffees and delivered the sick guy in the spare room. He joined me in our room to start a library book. After a shower and making a second cup for each of us, I moved on to marketing and then went to the garage to work on the dresser. The drawer runners had salve added, and the drawers were set in to decide on the stain colour. I’m torn about what to do. What do you think?

I’m working on cleaning out the garage so I cleaned up the vintage bar case and staged the photos to create an Etsy ad. I had S help me move the IKEA dresser downstairs to make room for the black one. He kindly ran the vacuum around the main floor.

I forgot to share the new bottle tree completed the other day

The new feet glides arrived at 12:30 p.m., so I called the handyman to help me install them. This was a bad idea, though, because even though I reminded him to drill the hole straight and not at an angle, I didn’t tell him not to drill through the side, which he did. Luckily, I can repair it with wood filler and more paint. While the dresser was on its back, I hammered glides on and also applied another coat of paint under the edges. Once dry, S helped me haul the dresser into the house.

Britt arrived as we were installing the new glides. She fed and visited Cooper and then left. We enjoyed cabbage rolls made by Ma K, which she kindly made for us. We chatted with her while we ate. I then went to start working on the custom cabinet, with S helping me lay it down on his work table. In total, I spent two hours making many repairs. I used a lot of glue and bondo, sanded and stripped the wood, and more.

S ventured out in the blustery 17 degree wind to try his new auger attachment and replace a broken post along the fence line. Needing a ventilation break I took the dogs with me and went over to check it out as well as give Switch a little shedding blade time. I were then back at the cabinet.

we need a few new push broom heads if anyone has some

After the hole was complete S managed to get the new post in and the rails back in place then moved on to the broken post near the house.

I added more bonds to the legs, sanded and stripped, rinsed and cleaned up.

S wrapped his work up at the same time I did at 5. We had BBQ sausage supper before a hot tub soak. The wind picked up soon after we came in, lucky us. There was even a huge metal crash which I assumed was the heavy steel paddock blade that S confirmed once he went out to check and close shop doors. We did some Spanish and reading then decided to finish the movie we had started. The Life List is very uplifting. I then started North of North while S headed to the spare room to sleep.
