Wind That Won’t Quit

Day 3 of relentless wind—honestly, how does it keep going like this? A light dusting of snow overnight, temps at -4, but with that wind it felt more like -19. Brutal.

Coffee and an Instagram scroll to start, then straight into computer work while S stayed in bed with his usual surf mode. I got Wednesday’s blog posted along with the final Vegas fun day—lots of photos and videos, so that took a while. While everything uploaded, I hauled buckets of bathwater (with Epsom salts) out to the garage to water the planters. Waste not.

Officially almost caught up on blog posts—just yesterday and today left.

The wind was too much—gray, loud, and just plain depressing—so I declared a 1000-piece puzzle challenge. S worked on the car one I gave him after his surgery, and I tackled the beautiful one Debby gave me. Game on.

Quick break for tuna sandwiches, then right back at it. Wind still howling, nonstop.

late afternoon progress

S braved the chaos to grab the trailer BBQ—no way the big one was happening in that wind. He fired it up in the garage while I prepped sweet potatoes and veggies. Somehow, we pulled off supper without blowing away but the garage now smells like a steak place.

Mini steaks cooked, good thing there were 4 :)

B popped out to feed as usual, then headed off. Not long after, a bit of snow started falling—but of course, the wind kept going.

I finished my puzzle just after 8… about 9 hours later. 😅 S was still working away, so I jumped in to help while he snacked on peanuts and watched hockey. I wrapped his puzzle work around 9:30.

so pretty, there is one mysteriously piece missing from this new puzzle

By then, my back was done from being hunched over all day, so it was straight to bed with an episode of Million Dollar Secret. S joined after hockey for one more episode.

Finally, the wind started to ease—and the snow began to fall a little steadier.

  1. Two intricate puzzles. I don't think I'll start another for a few days as I can't stay away from it and am behind in all other areas. See you Tuesday.
