Robbys Big Day, From Backyard Calm to Dance Floor

The big day arrived.

We started it slow—coffee, visiting, and a bit of calm before everything kicked into gear. Deb headed out with Steph and Brady to join up the wedding party for getting ready, with Mom tagging along. They even made a quick stop to grab her another couple shirt options for the outfit.

Back at the house, Chuck, S, and I soaked up a peaceful second coffee in the backyard—one of those rare quiet pockets before a full day unfolds. Once Deb was back, she and I zipped out to grab a few last-minute things… including the lashes I had forgotten (of course) and her meds.

Hydration came in the form of a cold one just as Chuck’s family started arriving. Deb and I pulled together big nacho platters from the leftover taco meat for a casual brunch, and before long it was time for hair appointments—Mom and Deb off to get done up.

While Mom was in the chair, Deb and I got to work steaming clothes. Guests continued to arrive, snacks were out, drinks flowing—it had that steady build of excitement all afternoon.

Weather-wise, it shifted a bit—wind and clouds rolled in—but still a beautiful mid-20s day.

Then came the getting-ready phase, most headed out to do so. Inside, Deb got the full royal treatment with a makeup artist sent by Ashley. The artist had a few minutes left to apply my lashes (much better than attempting that myself with my limited skills).

Chuck and Deb headed out around 4:45 to meet the wedding party. S, Mom, and I wrapped up our prep, grabbed a bit of salad to hold us over, and tidied up a bit more before heading out.

Kind neighbours picked us up just after 6 and got us to the venue right on time. Slight hiccup—turns out Mom was part of the processional and was supposed to be there earlier, so she was quickly whisked away to join the group.

The ceremony was beautiful. One of those moments where everything just comes together.

The evening flowed into a buffet supper, open bar, and a dance floor that stayed busy—such a great celebration all around.

the venue was a bit brisk so I put napkins on m shoulders for a shawl :)

We were dropped back home before 11:30, I poured us a round of drinks, and kept the visiting going… all the way past 1:30 a.m.—the latest night of the entire trip.

A full, happy, memorable kind of day.

    1. I am thinking the 4 paparazzi may have captured so much more but this does give a fun over view
