Winter is back—full-on snow cover again, and it’s apparently here for the day. So much for easing into spring.
I spent the morning on the phone with Mom for nearly an hour, then booked the Bridgerton Philharmonic concert for May with Britt—something fun to look forward to. Mom, though, isn’t having the best go of it. Her antibiotics haven’t kicked in yet, and with her ear issues, flying could be a problem with the pressure. Might affect her plans for flying to the wedding… fingers crossed things turn around soon.
S had a slow start—coffee, scrolling, then eventually moved out to Big Brown where he managed to coordinate a June camping trip with the Benbows.
The house woke up in waves—coffee and toast at all hours. Shaina stepped in to get S vacation-ready with a trim (back and eyebrows—full service 😄).
By 11:30, S and I were headed to town—him to hockey, me to get my nails and a pedicure done. Snow just kept coming down. Two hours later, I was back on the road to pick him up, grabbing Cooper along the way.
Next up: suitcase packing. That turned into a bit of a saga when S had to check the trailer for sandals and headphones… which meant hooking up power, getting the slides out—and then discovering evidence of a mouse in Harley’s kennel. 😬 Bedding got hauled to the garage for a wash, kennel removed, traps set. Just ranch life things.
While that was unfolding, I made a coleslaw to go with leftover roast for supper, and Matt pan-fried some mushrooms to round things out. S showed him the trap setup so someone can keep an eye on it while we’re gone.
Shaina baked up a batch of Easter “eggies” cookies for tomorrow’s family dinner, which definitely added a little brightness to the snowy day.
After supper, we started with crib while waiting for B. Once she got back (after feeding), we switched to a lively game of Smear and played until about 10:30 before she and Cooper headed home.
S and I wrapped up the night by finishing Avatar: Fire and Ash, then called it—another full, snowy day in the books.

It looks so cold around the hot tub! Mice seem to find their way in by the smallest passage. Good thing Sheldon noticed.
