Chop Chop Fiddle & Pheasant Damage

I woke in the night to the wind still howling—and surprise, it was still going strong when I got up. -2 too… seriously, what is this weather? Of course, my paint parcel was delivered last night and is now just sitting at the gate like a little frozen hostage.

Coffee in bed, then straight into blog catch-up mode. Got the Vegas game day post up and started sorting photos for my birthday post. S did his usual phone scroll in bed before moving to Big Brown with his laptop and round two of coffee.

I wrote a Hometalk post for the white shelf… as I moved on to marketing, I realized  I’ve been sharing the wrong tutorial all week on my daily link-ups. 🤦‍♀️ Promoting the old one instead of April’s square coffee table. UGH.

Singing "Peace like a river in her soul"

S headed to town around 11:30 with the trash and a grocery list. Meanwhile, the wind somehow picked up even more around lunch—full-on hurricane vibes. Reading felt like the only reasonable activity.

I was just starting a weight workout when S got back around 2:30—with Cooper—and promptly hit the couch for a nap. I did plant care chopping Britt's fiddle leaf plant down on 2 branches. Fingers crossed the cuttings will root. Other plant care ensued.

And below is the root of a living lettuce Matt suggested we try and regrow last week. Micro salad coming along :)

I kept reading through the afternoon. Supper was supposed to be those mini steaks, but honestly, no one felt like braving the wind to deal with anything outside, so we finished off the last of the spaghetti instead.

Evening routine: news, then playoff hockey for S. B came out to feed in what can only be described as a full-on cyclone—grabbed a parcel taped to the gate on her way in. Poor girl also hit a pheasant that blew across the road on her way to work this morning, damaging her grill… on top of the already dinged VW emblem. Not her day.

She fed and headed home, S stayed locked into hockey, and I started the new season of Million Dollar Secret  in the tub (then continued in bed—balance 😄).

S joined me after hockey for another episode, and we called it a day.

Wind: still undefeated.
