Renn slept until just before midnight last night, then called for me. I brought her up to our bed where she lay quietly for about 20 minutes… then decided she wanted her own bed again. So back down we went, and I crawled in with her for the night. There was one more attempt to negotiate a return to Nana’s bed (denied 😄), and she settled soon after. Me? Not quite as easy, but eventually morning came around 7:45.
We headed upstairs for coffee, Grandpa joining us while the robot vacuum worked away—providing top-tier entertainment for Renn. Meanwhile, the Paetz’s were off, filling a whole airplane row en route to Los Angeles—Disneyland bound. Lucky crew!
Breakfast for Renn was a full spread—blueberries, grapes, strawberries… and of course, a bowl of Alphagetti on the side. Balance, right?
Playtime moved to the “castle,” and I recruited Grandpa to supervise while I got some computer work done—published my April paint tutorial - the square coffee table post, and finally got my Good Friday blog post up. Definitely playing catch-up as a few weeks behind.
With the day staying dreary and overcast, we moved playtime back upstairs. Lunch was a solid one—bacon, avocado, tomato sandwiches for us, and for Renn: more fruit, cheese, and a smoothie pouch. Followed, naturally, by Teddy Grahams and smoothie melts. She eats well… just not a vegetable in sight.
B and Cooper headed home before 4, and shortly after our Nespresso pod order arrived. The weather turned even greyer, cooler, with snow threatening again. On a brighter note—I posted a new t-shirt and it sold within half an hour, along with a few other items. Win! I packed everything up for S to drop off at B’s later.
Quick supper as the snow started, then S headed to town before 6 for a rodeo meeting. Renn had a bath, then a snack of sausage and banana—yes, including dipping the banana in ketchup once or twice. 😄 Books, a bit of rocking, then into bed with bum taps… and she was out cold by 7:30. One of the easier bedtimes.
Jenkins was acting up, and I realized I hadn’t seen Stella all day. I checked in with B and S—no sightings—so I asked S to check the barn when he got home in case she’d tucked herself away from the weather.
I started sorting through Debby’s photos but pivoted to a shower and hair dry while I had the chance, then caught another episode of The Cleaning Lady. S got home after 9 from his meeting (and a little OJ’s social hour), checked around, and found Stella curled up on a cushion under the deck. She wasn’t interested in coming inside—her call.
He settled in scrolling his phone while I read a bit, winding down another full, cozy, slightly chaotic day.
Concert fun in Vancouver

Life is never dull around your ranch. I got my wash caught up the first day back. Still have to vacuum and wash floors from Tim's wet/muddy feet. Calves are doing well with 14 out of 30 delivered. Only two weeks before Trav goes back to work. Then I will be needed more to check and deal with animals. I have not seen or heard Ron visiting Molly since my return. The crew hit the snow with the sleds hoping to get one last day in before the melt.
ReplyDeleteBusy at your ranch too :)
