I heard the door just after 6 as Shaina and Matt headed out for the airport—next stop, Ottawa for their next adventure. I managed to sleep until after 8, waking to full sunshine and a forecast high of 19—finally feeling like spring.
I got the wedding rehearsal dinner post finished, then Thursday’s—both heavy on photos and videos, so a bit of a process. Also squeezed in some much-needed marketing… my business side has definitely been neglected lately.
S was back just after 12, picking up milk and Edo Japan for lunch. He hit the couch for Jays in 30, while the 15-degree sunshine called me outside.
The horses still hadn’t wandered out of the winter pasture, too busy nibbling every bit of new grass down to nothing. Harley and I took matters into our own hands—walked them all to the gate and let them out. They made a beeline for the back and happily grazed fresh patches. I did a quick check on everyone and made Beibs do many laps—still not interested in being pet like the rest.
While dumping the trash from our walk, I met up with S in the shop—he was heading to empty the compost wagon. I added to his load (hay piles, another poop loop, and rocks from around the posts) before he hauled it off to the pit.
Back and forth he went—skid steer, ranger, then off again after spotting a gopher (of course). Meanwhile, B and Cooper came out and we took advantage of the beautiful day (now 20 degrees) with a horse ride—looping the winter pasture, followed by pre- and post-grooming sessions.
B fed the horses, then she and Cooper headed home.
Evening rolled in with playoff hockey pulling S to the TV while we prepped taco night. He settled into the big screen, and I claimed the sunny bedroom smart TV for a few episodes of Imperfect Women on Netflix.
Once most of the games wrapped, S joined me for a weight workout—solid end to a very active day (nearly 12K steps, I’ll take it). We followed it up with a couple more episodes of The Last Thing He Told Me before I started fading.
He popped out to catch the end of another hockey game, and not long after—we were both out.
Sunshine, fresh air, and lots of movement… one of those really good days.

We sure got a taste of how hot summer will be today!
ReplyDeleteOh I think it will be hotter but was sure nice to feel it.
